  1. ITTF to increase ball and net size

U guys are right. The reason there are not many defenders is because the majority of people starts as an attacker and remains an attacker. Imagine if raising the net height would get us more defenders, what would happen? You get defenders vs. defenders playing push and chop against each other...
  2. TTD being better!

Haha yeah I obviously have a lot of time on my hands. Probably a bit less in the near future, my books for learning Chinese arrived today xD. Maybe one day I will understand the Superleague commentary ;) But yes welcome to the forum Romina :) Thanks for ur reply.
  3. ITTF to increase ball and net size

Just plain stupid is all I can say. Players and national federations should protest and not accept these changes.
  4. Solid 30 shot Rally!

Mizutani was lucky several times in the tournament. Given his bad form he should be happy with the runner up place. Would be nice for him to win in Japan of course, but I'm very happy for Kishikawa because he is criticised often. Beating Mizutani and Chuang proves that he is right up there with...
  5. ITTF looking for new commentator!!

Good luck man!! :D And have a nice holiday ;)
  6. TTD being better!

Hahaha, I actually wondered if there is a girl on this forum :P Apparently not. Looking forward to see the result of ur ideas Dan. Based on previous events I have good faith ur idea will catch on, whatever it is haha ;)
  7. Defend or Offense

@YosuaYosan Thanks, yea it is kinda ironic but I have to live with it as long as it lasts haha. But in fact it is the reason that I started watching all tt youtube vids and subscribed to the forum ;)
  8. Defend or Offense

By the way at my club is a player who randomly attacks an defends very well whenever he feels like it. He uses (I believe) 2 sriver FX's. Those are in fact offensive rubbers but without glue or anything they are slow enough to chop as well. He attacks with either very spinny loops and when it is...
  9. Defend or Offense

Yes you can choose for an allround setup with 2 soft rubbers. Also if you like chopping with backhand and you feel you backhand loop is maybe not that good, you could go for short pips on backhand to chop/push. Gionis Panagiotis would be a good example of how to mix offensive with defensive...
  10. What's your plan B?

I'm on a 8 months break at the moment haha, wonder what I will be like when I get back to playing.
  11. Fred's Summer Vid 2011

Give him a shirt that fits and he could develop a killer backhand as well :D Can't wait till he gets to his prime haha.
  12. Model, Soo Yeon Lee is a Table Tennis player!

Haha she is actually a pretty decent chopper judging from the video. Killerspin knows how to promote table tennis. That should be used by the national tt federations of all countries.
  13. Ma Lin and his boring game delay..

Ma Lin won the China Open. He is obviously still in shape. Ma Long has many years to go. Every player takes his time between points if he is not stupid, so please let's not blame a player if it takes a little bit longer sometimes. I'd like to leave that for the umpires to decide, that is why...
  14. How often do you hear this

100% agree with that haha. I know a guy I played against in competition who went to the WTTC as photographer for a news site. He sat right next to the centre court with his amateur camera between all the big camera's haha but he had an awesome view at every match on the main tables.
  15. ITTF looking for new commentator!!

haha, that could attract the wrong crowd ^^
  16. Ma Lin and his boring game delay..

Indeed, it wouldn't hurt Ma Long to settle his nerves every now and then :P
  17. How often do you hear this

That is the same in the Netherlands after the retirement of Danny Heister and Trinko Keen ;). But I don't need that kind of level, since I will never reach it I am left with enough class players to have a good practise against ;)
  18. Japan Open 2011

4 Japanese in the semi's. That is something to be proud of. I found this remarkable: Kishikawa wins 4-3 against Matsudaira, last 3 games 5-11,2-11,3-11. And in the next round he also comes back from 3-1 down. Very impressive. Also Koki Niwa's victory against Lin Gaoyuan is a very impressive one.
  19. Ma Lin and his boring game delay..

20 seconds is not much for picking the ball up, returning to the table and starting the play again. A good referee knows when a player will delay just to bring his opponent off his game. In that case the referee should say something. But for example the last points of the WTTC were not 20...
  20. July World Rankings

I think Boll participates in way more tournaments than the Chinese players. It says enough that none of them could play the Pro Tour Grand Finals last year. They just don't play as much, but when they do, they get many points. Like Lin Gaoyuan now, he plays two Pro Tours and he will go up in the...
