  1. Tibhar Hybrid MK alternatives

Yeah, I am sticking with my hurricane. I have never been tempted to try hybrid rubber.....
  2. Stay on Chinese Rubbers or give Tensor Rubbers more days?

I favor 39 degree. I have a couple sheets of 40 degree I need to try next. I highly doubt I will ever play 41 or 42 degree. At some point, when the sponge is too hard, a brick is a brick, unless you are Ma Long.
  3. Stay on Chinese Rubbers or give Tensor Rubbers more days?

Get the provincial blue sponge. National blue sponge is NOT that much better. Save yourself some money.
  4. Tibhar Hybrid MK alternatives

I am confused by why K3's durability is either great or it sucks. I think people have different definition of "tackiness." I am sure the sponge works just fine. I think some people like K3's surface to be tacky while others are ok with K3 being "grippy?" Maybe that is where the confusion comes...
  5. Stay on Chinese Rubbers or give Tensor Rubbers more days?

Commercial orange sponge, neo or not neo, regular H3 or Skyline, it is not that tacky anymore. the trend started about two years ago so you were lucky to get a hold of the Skyline 3 Neo 2 years ago before DHS changed the formula. H3 provincial blue sponge, however, is still quite tacky. So I...
  6. What hurricane version to get?

Then pick H3 provincial blue sponge :) :)
  7. How do pros clean their rubbers?

I just use plain water with Nittaku cleaning sponge after every day that I play. Once in a long while, I would add a tiny bit of dishwater detergent if I feel that too much oil from my hand builds up on the topsheet. That's pretty much it. I grew up playing Friendship 729, Friendship Tackspeed...
  8. What hurricane version to get?

Provincial blue sponge is tackier than commercial orange sponge. Commercial orange sponge is very affordable. Why don't you get one of each and compare?
  9. First Hurricane attempt

    TT11 fixed your order?
  10. Carbon or wood?

I don't really memorize the blade's composition. But I have like 6 Stratus Power Wood, two Samsonov Force Pro Black and two Persson Powerplay. I like all of them to be honest. Yes the first two have bigger heads so the blade will be slightly heavier. However if you get enough people to order...
  11. Carbon or wood?

I am going to be the last person to tell you to go all wood. My recommendations are: Tibhar Stratus Powerwood (5-ply), Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition (7-ply) or Donic Persson Powerplay (7-ply). Out of all of them, Donic Persson Powerplay is actually the cheapest.
  12. What hurricane version to get?

Agree. The entire line of H3's have less tackiness now. Blue sponge is more tacky than orange sponge. Yes orange sponge was sooooo much tackier 5 years ago than now. I would skip orange sponge provincial and go for blue sponge provincial.
  13. How stiff is Viscaria actually?

Blocking is fine. I am used to rubbers that are a tad harder than Xiom Vega Europe, such as C-1, Acuda S-2, Xiom Vega Japan/Asia.
  14. What hurricane version to get?

My two cents: 1) orange sponge, after boosting, does feel quite a bit like tensor. 2) I am not sure if other people agree or disagree. I find orange sponge to be bouncier than blue sponge, after the same layers of boosting. However, blue sponge feels harder (not softer to me) but I agree that...
  15. How stiff is Viscaria actually?

Viscaria is stiff. I wonder if your clubmates' Viscaria has been "broken into" so it feels softer. I also remember someone saying that the older Viscaria (from previous years or even many many years ago) tend to have more feeling and softer. Not sure if that's true for not. Don't you have...
  16. Best pips for chop-blocking and active blocking?

Der Materialspezialist spinfire is the best short pips if you know that is what you want. In general, when you switch from inverted to short pips, you want something easy to use. Both Friendship 802-40 and Der Materialspezialist spinfire are very "inverted" like, meaning you can still...
  17. Broken WCQ blade

The old H3 where it was very very tacky takes about a week or two to break in, where the top sheet's extreme tackiness wears off during that period and then the level of tackiness (which is still very tacky) stays for like a year or two, literally. The new H3 where the top sheet is not so tacky...
  18. First Hurricane attempt

I only emailed TT11 once. They did not mess up my order. I just had a question. They answered pretty quickly. so maybe emailing them is better than calling them?
  19. Broken WCQ blade

I think it takes time for boosters to take effects. And sometimes you have wait 8-24 hours in between the boosters during the process. Pro's like WCQ are very sensitive to the slightly change in equipment. Just look at Timo Boll's video where he glued like 20 blades all at once and pick one...
  20. First Hurricane attempt

I am surprised that no one has asked this question. Which shop did you order from that messed up your order so badly? I am actually very surprised because I have bought from Aliexpress (various vendors), Paddle Palace, Table Tennis Pioneers (in Quebec, Canada before but that shop has since...
