  1. Tibhar Evolution MX-S Review

Both G-1 and MX-S are good backhand rubbers for me on wood blade. As I am using carbon blades nowadays I like FX-D/EL-S and C-1 better. I think MX-S is a bit more catapulty than G-1.
  2. Tibhar Evolution MX-S Review

I have a sheet. It was too fast and too hard on my carbon blade. But when I put it on my 5-ply wood blade, it came alive! Everyone has a different playing style and uses different rubbers differently. When I put MX-S on three different carbon blades I did not like it at all. Finally I put it...
  3. Soft topsheet rubbers

Xiom Vega Japan definitely has a soft top sheet. I like it. The hardness however is more like medium. It might not be hard enough for you.
  4. Rubber for chinese loop technique

I second that. I would just get Hurricane 3 regular or Hurricane 3 neo, 39 degree. I have a sheet of Battle II provincial blue sponge somewhere. It is a bit too hard for me (the sponge and/or the to sheet). I think I will put it on a spare blade.
  5. Post your latest EJ purchase

Don't believe the ranking. New rubbers show up suspiciously high on the "popularity" algorithm. I do not believe that a single bit.
  6. Recommendations for a beginner + few questions

Rozena does not have a strong grip. However, it is a good all around rubber. It is one of the most popular rubbers in Japan. Now if you really want to experiment with different brand and different hardness, then Yasaka Rakza 7, Rakza 7 soft, Rakza X and Rakza X soft could be interesting. Same...
  7. Recommendations for a beginner + few questions

Then get Rozena. The hardness is about the same as 42 ESN degree. Don't get Glayzer 09c. It is not worth the money for a developing player. there are better rubbers out there such as Rakza 7, Fastarc C-1 or Fastarc G-1 or BlueFire which is all a lot cheaper than Glayzer 09c.
  8. Help choosing bh rubber for penhold

if you looking for a budget, then I agree with the Xiom Vega series. I would recommend either Xiom Vega Europe which is soft and without too much catapult, or Xiom Vega Japan which for extra couple dollars has good speed and soft top sheet. Fastarc C-1 is good too. But more expensive than Xiom.

No, no time. I try to loop drive with Hurricane most of the time even when the ball is high.
  10. Recommendations for a beginner + few questions

Rozena is easy to control and probably the same hardness. Glayzer regular is a bit harder. I do not recommend Glayzer 09c. I have two sheets and they are not on any blades right now. They are a bit tack but not really. Glayzer 09c is also slower than Glayzer regular so what is the point of the...

H3 is pretty good at tomahawk smash. It is just not good at straight smashing head on!
  12. What’s the difference between DHS Skyline TG2 and TG3?

I think TG2 is slower than TG3. I have a batch of TG2 that seems to be from a couple years ago. They are quite tacky. The TG3 I have seem to the newer less tacky version.
  13. Rubber for chinese loop technique

I second hurricane 3 regular or hurricane 3 neo or TG3. 39 degree as well. Tabletennis11 and Dandoy sports carry 39 degree by default if it does not say anything otherwise. You are not going to get as much spin with Big Dipper. I have not been impressed by the hybrids I have played with. I...
  14. DHS fans unite!

Welcome to the dark side, again. Hurricane is a looping magic. Nothing beats it. However, smashing is just a problem. That's why Chinese players almost always turn their racket to the Butterfly/ESN side to smash high balls/lobs. Hurricane just sucks at smashing. You almost have to loop drive...
  15. DHS fans unite!

I think 41 degree is too hard. I am used to 39 degree and it plays well. I have 40 degree that I felt a little bit dead. someone wanted it and I just gave it to him. Back to 39 degree.....
  16. Rubbers are not sticking well on my blade

A few comments: 1) Rakza 7 (or at least the sof version) is known to have trouble being glued to my blade. I have wasted a couple good sheets here and there due to that issue. So you are not alone. I have glued Tenergy, Dignics, Xiom Vega, Gewo, Victas, Donic rubbers without a problem. 2)...
  17. Losing pretty instead of winning ugly

I am the opposite. When I play double, I am more loose because, well, I am usually the stronger player so it is usually my partner who loses the point. So when we lose points, it is usually my partner's issues. But it also depends on if I am in a zone or not. When I am in the zone, my forehand...
  18. Losing pretty instead of winning ugly

Lol, it is always the best to win and have fun at the same time. :) :) I would love that every single time. However sometimes we do need to make certain choices.
  19. DHS fans unite!

So you need to put DHS 37 degree on say FDZ super ALC or Super Viscaria ALC instead? Like even harder?
  20. Losing pretty instead of winning ugly

I have said it before: if you want to improve, you have to lose a few matches. However, I agree with @jk1980 that you should work on one thing at a time. Just looping everything is not going to help and is not going to look pretty either. For example, for me, I need to work on my backhand...
