  1. Sponge Hardness new Video

I don't know why would the sponge hardness matter. It also depends on the hardness of the topsheet. It matters more about how you play with the rubber. I think of rubbers as soft, medium, and hard. I like my forehand to be hard with Chinese tacky rubber. I like my backhand to be soft tensor. I...
  2. Mark V correct spelling ?

everyone has always said it Mark Five. I have not heard any other person saying it in any other way.
  3. Bluestar a1 vs k3 vs c53

I tried my clubmates' Bluestar A1. I don't really feel that it is a hybrid. It plays very very well. But the topsheet did not seem particularly tacky. I tried K2 and K1 European version. K2 is much tackier than K1. If K3 is as tacky as K2, then yeah, it is a real hybrid. Tried Rasanter R...
  4. Racket recommendations

When did you get on the Tibhar Stratus Power Wood bandwagon? Yes I own like 8 of them. I highly recommend that. Tibhar Stratus Power Wood is 5-ply all wood. Solid OFF-. It does not have a lot of vibration (I don't like vibration). The handle is very comfortable. Of note, the face is bigger than...
  5. H3 not so tacky?

I am pretty sure the new H3 National is still more tacky than Dignics09c. Why don't you just try a commercial skyline?
  6. all roads lead to Rome...

Yes agree. It is not like table tennis needs a huge court; we are not talking about ITTF events here. At the elementary school level, the tables are be closely together. And which kid does not like ping pong? They may not be good at it in the beginning but they should have fun. And the earlier...
  7. all roads lead to Rome...

I am trying to get my daughter (11 yo) and my son (9 yo) to play. I mean we have fun with multiball training and some hitting. But when I try to get their friends to play, it is just very difficult. Table tennis just has a big learning curve in the beginning. Not many of their friends have the...
  8. all roads lead to Rome...

I think in North America, golf is in decline. It is a real problem. Younger generation is just not interested.
  9. I'm currently in full EJ mode. What other rubbers should I try?

Weird, I played with ESN on my backhand and I flipped my blade around, and my forehand is worse. Then I tried hybrids like K1 European and K2. Then I tried Big Dipper and Sanwei Target provincial and Sanweit Target National. Now I am back to H3. I play much better with H3 on the forehand side...
  10. WTT Star Contender Ljubljana 2023

Great tournament so far! Ma Long got knocked out. The Youtube comments say Ma Long threw the match to make way for the new, younger player to gain more experience. That is a bunch of Horsesh*t. If Ma Long wanted to throw the match, he would have done it in three straight games. By waste energy...
  11. I'm currently in full EJ mode. What other rubbers should I try?

Lol, you need a third blade. I would not try G-1. You will be disappointed. I agree with the other person who mentioned Donic BlueStar A1. One of my clubmates has it. I played with it for five minutes. I think you will like it. I have 8 blades of Tibhar Stratus Powerwood then I EJ'ed a lot. Now...
  12. Recommendations for a beginner + few questions

I second Donic PowerPlay. It is like $35 or so. Very solid 7-ply. OFF in speed. That is accurate. A bit faster than Tibhar Stratus Powerwood. I have Donic PowerPlay, two of them, one is straight handle and one is anatomic handle. If you like bigger handle, then look into anatomic handle. I like...
  13. Equipment you want Dan and Tom to review?

They probably need to be sponsored to review those blades and rubber. I doubt they just "buy" those items to review. On the other hand, they must be busy doing other things right now.
  14. all roads lead to Rome...

True. Golf and yatch are a lot more expensive! Plus I cannot imagine playing 18 holes. Really? How much time does that take? Not for me.
  15. Looking for an advice for my new bat

Go with Yinhe. No premade. Gozo is 100% Butterfly. I have used premade Butterfly before; it is NOT good. Anything you piece together with Yinhe/Sanwei blade and rubbers, it will be better than any premade Butterfly blade. You can get it under $30. No worries.
  16. H3 not so tacky?

Including the one that is 3-year old? That sheet probalby tripled in price! lol! :) :)
  17. I'm currently in full EJ mode. What other rubbers should I try?

Got it. yes you like harder sponge rubber. Don't worry about Rakza X. You can skip that. The older Rakza 7 is better than Rakza X. Mantra pro hard can be interesting. Glad you already tried Rakza X extra hard, Vega X and Vega Europe so you can rule those out. I think you should just avoid all...
  18. I'm currently in full EJ mode. What other rubbers should I try?

I think everything from Xiom that has "Euro" or "Europe" in the name is the softest rubber in the series. I think maybe it is not the grip or spin, but the sponge was too soft for you. When you don't like the sponge hardness, you can feel that it has no grip or no spin. It is a bit like me with...
  19. I'm currently in full EJ mode. What other rubbers should I try?

Sorry I made my suggestions before I saw your post. By the way, Tibhar Hybrid MK is not really hybrid. You can watch the review on YouTube. It has no hybrid feel to it at all. I have not played with that rubber so I have no opinion.
  20. I'm currently in full EJ mode. What other rubbers should I try?

Xiom Strato is high speed carbon blade? From your list, you seem to like harder, catapulty Butterfly/ESN rubber. However, if your blade is fast, you should try Rakza 7 soft, just to feel how it feels on the other end of the hardness specture. I like Rakza 7 soft on my backhand and it is at a...
