  1. Which blade breaks easier, the flexible or the stiff?

Agree with Bob. Also the single ply hinoki blades (i.e. Darker Speed 90) is very very fragile. But it is so expensive, people have found way to repair it. None of my blades has been broken yet. But I put side tapes on all of them.
  2. Dignics on a Budget?! | Glayzer vs Glayzer 09C Review

Let me make a few comments. I am in my mid-40's. I started playing since I was 14. Never played more than 2 times a week my whole life because univ. and graduate school and job just took much of my time. Stuck at around 1600-1700 level for 20 years already. I started with Sriver, then moved to...
  3. Dignics on a Budget?! | Glayzer vs Glayzer 09C Review

I still think they should try Chinese rubber and make a decision if they want to stick with Chinese rubber v.s. ESN/Butterfly rubber. After all, maybe the older players like to spin the balls and finish the points quickly (maybe even finish the point on the serve). Or maybe the older players...
  4. Dignics on a Budget?! | Glayzer vs Glayzer 09C Review

Agree. I am just a big proponent of Chinese, tacky rubber on the forehand side. A natural forehand loop goes well with Chinese rubber. Backhand stroke is more compact and an ESN/Butterly rubber does work better. Plus two Chinese dense rubbers do add a lot of weight to the blade. I think someone...
  5. Dignics on a Budget?! | Glayzer vs Glayzer 09C Review

No, they use it because it is very good. At the top level, they don't play equipment that will take down their levels of playing. For example, Fan Zhendong was known to use Viscaria with a Stiga handle because he was sponsored by Stiga. It was an open secret. I imagine if Stiga could produce a...
  6. best Gambler rubber for offensive, looping players?

Resurrecting an old thread just because I did try their rubbers recently. They are cheap. And I don't feel that any of them is tensor like. I am comparing them to H3 Neo, Rakza X, Razka 7, Razka 7 soft, Tenegery 05 fx, Tenergy 64 fx, G-1, and C-1. Honestly they feel like Sriver and Mark V in...
  7. Dignics on a Budget?! | Glayzer vs Glayzer 09C Review

I think we should just admit it. No matter what they advertise about Dignics 09c, Rakza Z, Tibhar K3, Tenergy 05, etc. etc., nothing is as spinny as boosted H3 neo. There is a reason why the whole chinese team uses hurricane.
  8. Does it really matter what paddle to use?

Yes, that is a very popular pro set up.
  9. Does it really matter what paddle to use?

Nice. So T64 on your forehand next week? :) :)
  10. Does it really matter what paddle to use?

I think before T05 hard came out or before Dignics came out, most people use T05 on the forehand and T64 on the backhand. T64 is more direct and better for hitting/blocking. Now Dignics and T05 hard came out, people are using those on the forehand and putting T05 on the backhand side now.
  11. Looking for rubbers with medium hardness and good control

I did not try Rakza X for long. I tried Rakza 7 for longer. I think both Rakza X and G-1 are good rubbers. If you have the money why not buy both? Also there is no shame to find someone with G-1 in your club and ask to hit with their blade for a while. G-1 last very long. As I recall Razka...
  12. Which of my blades for a 1300 level player?

Do you have Cybershape wood or carbon? I want to try Cybershape at some point. However, if you (and me) want to find the perfect blade, then it is better to stick with regular round blades because there are a lot of them around. I really like Fortino performance, more so than Viscaria and...
  13. Does it really matter what paddle to use?

I second that. I even find Tenergy 05 fx to be a bit too fast for my taste.. If money is not a concern, go for it. Or else you might regret not trying it. But maybe start with fx version that has more control and then move up to the regular version. I have played with 64 fx and 80 fx on the...
  14. Looking for rubbers with medium hardness and good control

Peter Korbel with Fastarc G-1 on both sides sound like a great set-up! For me, if people want a bit slower and softer sponge, and yet able to spin, then C-1 is great choice. Then eventually if their playing level goes up and wants something faster and harder, then go to G-1. You can also play...
  15. Looking for rubbers with medium hardness and good control

I am glad we agree. The directness of G-1 is unique, compared to other tensor rubber such as EL-S, Rakza series, Tenergy fx series and Barracuda. I like the Rakza series too but it is just not the same. Both C-1 and G-1 are great. G-1 is hard and fast, but not chinese rubber hard. It is fast...
  16. Non boosted Hurricane 3

The new version in silver package. I bought two black and one red from Megaspin. They were actually sitting for 4-5 months already. Life got busy. And I just put one on yesterday and it felt exactly like a broken in H3 neo! Now I need to play with it more. Plus now I have two more sheets that I...
  17. Got to try Viscaria with Tenergy 05 as a beginner

Glad I am not the only one who does not Viscaria. Agree. Maybe I just don't like the koto outer ply either. I own plenty of other carbon blades. Just don't like Viscaria.
  18. Which of my blades for a 1300 level player?

I have two of those blades. You cannot go wrong with Tibhar Stratus Power Wood. It is OFF -. Very good feel for both looping and blocking. Not too fast and not too slow. You can upgrade the rubbers to make it faster as you move up from 1300. I have put Chinese rubber on it. I have put ESN...
  19. Non boosted Hurricane 3

A few comments. I have heard that the national version is not as sticky and is softer than the commerical version. To me, that is kind of weird. I might as well spend that money on a tensor rubber. I have only bought commericial orange sponge H3 neo. I have not bought provincial or national...
  20. Does it really matter what paddle to use?

I second that Korbel is a good blade. I don't own it. I have not used one. But a couple 2200-2300 level players use it. I borrowed one of their Korbel blades. It vibrates quite a bit. I only played with it for 2-3 minutes. It is just quite a bit different than Tibhar Stratus Power Wood that I...
