  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I coached yesterday night. I had watched my temp student (his coach is on vacation) struggle with a pips player and a heavy push and slow spin lefty so I sent him some material on how to play pips and took my pips rackets to the club. I had taken the week off because my elbow was really...
  2. Cleaning rubbers

Zhang Jike and many top players breathe on and clean their paddle all the time. We've not heard anyone screaming about this behavior. Or maybe people do and I just have't heard about it. I pity the opponent who has to deal with ZJK's germs from his mouth. Or even inspect his racket before...
  3. Dimitrij Ovtcharov using Hurricane rubber at World Cup 2016!

In other words, you are talking about what you can visibly verify vs. what the intention of the player is. Maybe there is a distinction somewhere in there that lets both of us be reasonably right if you look for it.
  4. Dimitrij Ovtcharov using Hurricane rubber at World Cup 2016!

No - it's actually pointing out that we can only speculate what Dima is thinking until he tells us what he think. I remember him saying that he was using a paddle optimized to play defenders for a certain match - either that or that the setup was broken so he had to use his regular setup... how...

    Dima loses again...
  6. European Championships 2016

That's quite possible but Khanin is pretty good.
  7. Cleaning rubbers

I reacted the way I did because of what you wrote and because you have done similar things before. Thanks for letting me know you have a problem with my writing and style in general. It helps so I know where it is coming from next time. Cheers.
  8. Cleaning rubbers

OK. I have posted the video of someone who uses water and his hands to clean his rubbers. Hopefully, you can tell him how proud you are of getting 9 months out of your spending money on cleaners when he says he gets over a year using water and his hands. And we can see who is pretending to...
  9. Cleaning rubbers

In fact, the first person who.encouraged me to use water to clean my rubbers was a tacky rubber user on youtube (xkaboomx). Later, a guy who hung around lots of provincial players told me the same. Tacky rubbers just last longer than non-tacky in my experience as long as you basically clean...
  10. Cleaning rubbers

Suga D, Thanks for your opinion but you probably don't realize how rude you can be when you disagree with people. Precision does matter in table tennis. Pros take care of their rubbers (people who see what pros do to their rackets when they are not using them can see this). Pros do not do...
  11. Cleaning rubbers

Yeah, not so extroverted, but ready to say things when it is "none of your business". The truth is that there is often nothing that much better than water. Rubbers are not weapons of precision such that if you scratch it, the rubber becomes unplayable. If maintenance was the key, pros would...
  12. European Championships 2016

    Smart decision, eh?
  13. Cleaning rubbers

If I use rubber that long, then I either don't play enough, use Chinese rubbers or my loop is a piece of trash. It's obvious I usually don't hold my tongue. If you use rubbers for a long time and have a good loop, you just do. Rubber care doesn't justify it.
  14. China Super League 2016 (CTTSL)

  16. China Super League 2016 (CTTSL)

Youtubers, please show Miu Hirano some love with some shortform videos!
  17. Biggest Downfall of the Plastic Ball

Glad you've finally seen the light after arguing that the balls have nothing to do with increased injuries.
  18. European Championships 2016

Wow, Flore didn't make it. Amazing - means Khanin likely has improved a ton.
