  1. Evolution MX-P with Virtuoso + or V'King

To reduce weight, use 2.0mm. That was my solution for MX-S and it is helps a lot. You only need thick sponge for counterlooping and blocking at the highest levels - the gain at lower levels is not as much as you might think if the sponge is hard. I also have a practice head heavy blade where...
  2. High throw vs low throw rubber (high / low arc) thoughts

So let me help Pnatchwey by simplifying. For those of us who play a lot of TT and actually spin the ball, we tend to do two things: 1. We test the quality of our looping strokes by taking the ball at heights below the net as this is when looping is most critical (above the net, I may loop...
  3. Der_Echte in NYC

Trolley Car has the best parking situation but it is not central nor easily train accessible from NY. Lily has the best playing situation and is next to a train station. Parking is usually decent as well. Westfield has a better parking situation but table availability varies as they have...
  4. Whats the "cheapest" but decent bh rubber?

Ah, I need to take a slow paced yoga class that doesn't kill my knees...
  5. Der_Echte in NYC

Next time, we have to do this at a train station accessible club not named SpinNY (like Lily Yip or NJTTC), so people can drive without paying tolls through their noses and parking through their asses.
  6. Evolution MX-P with Virtuoso + or V'King

I can place that bet any day. My tournament setups have been fairly stable even with all the tests I have made.
  7. Evolution MX-P with Virtuoso + or V'King

EJing disease - that's the beauty of not playing tournaments - you get to try whatever you want anytime you want it. A tournament player doesn't want to lose and learns not to take that risk.

Me will try me new set up! What time is the club opening? I might need to get out there earlier so I don't lose motivation. I might consider bringing someone was well, though he might not be up for it.
  9. Der_Echte in NYC

Hmm, why do I have no clue who this is? Actually, I do, since I now realize you train all the lefties. Yeah, his attitude sucks in general so I don't think it is after a while - I think it is just his personality.

Derek? No wonder he has no backhand. Fantastic kid and I love his family. I think he will get better really fast as well - will probably be beating me and the top juniors at Lily if he gets over the fact that they aren't plated with gold and diamond studs given his strokes. Massive forehand...
  11. Yinhe Big Dipper - Review

That was the article that helped me realize the pervasiveness and nature of the problem so I decided that until I get a better block or better footwork, I can't use them. Better block is WIP though.
  12. Whats the "cheapest" but decent bh rubber?

I like my women a bit different and while I get you on the shrieking, it turns me off sufficiently to try something else. There was that German lady (I always pretend to not know their names) who was something else. And if anyone names her, I will pretend to have no clue what you are talking...
  13. Yinhe Big Dipper - Review

I haven't used those rubbers but I believe that the sponge for Big Dipper is the same as those ("MaxTense","GodCrossbow") so if you don't mind the hardness and more importantly the effects of the tackiness on blocking easy balls, then you will be fine with it. The catapult is not the problem...
  14. Der_Echte in NYC

Hmm - parking is going to be tough...
  15. Yinhe Big Dipper - Review

Never used H3 Neo - I like Big Dipper a lot and if I had two knees instead of half a knee, I would use it, but I have concluded that I don't have the mobility to fix my counterhit and block with a rubber that provides little catapult (the catapult is good vs. Chinese hard sponged rubbers, but...
  16. Whats the "cheapest" but decent bh rubber?

Is that screaming B Szocs over there? Gotta RUN!
  17. Whats the "cheapest" but decent bh rubber?

You must be joking - the only thing a rubber really knows is how far it is from the table.
  18. Whats the "cheapest" but decent bh rubber?

I love it - make your sponge blue, and other people want to try it too.
  19. Tibhar Kim Jung Hoon Beast Mod

I wonder whether the beast mod affects the 85% wood requirement. Maybe you can only use sawdust or a really heavy wood...
  20. Whats the "cheapest" but decent bh rubber?

BTW, Dawei XP 2008 is a great rubber. Only $8. A bit heavy but still good.
