  1. high and low throw rubbers

Pretty interesting - will have to test that theory out on a sheet of T25 at some point in the future but not on my own dime. I haven't used T25 since I developed more serious looping ability.
  2. high and low throw rubbers

The main point was simple. If you grip the racket relatively tight and accelerate with wrist snap, you get spin. But if you loosen your grip and accelerate into the ball less, the difference in spin production is significant if you use the same stroke and can get serious spin with your spin...
  3. high and low throw rubbers

If Der_Echte is willing, we can do something for 10-15 mins or so when I see him next. He just runs through his serves and his pushing technique and I am sure we could get him to dummy loop if necessary. I could probably do the pushing and the dummy looping but the serves are way beyond me...

Everything I write here is my relatively but not so humble opinion of course :p Thanks - I lost almost all my other matches so it's not going to really go up, but for me, that was besides the point. Trust me, when you have lost to someone like DeWitt as often as I have, one win is plenty. He...

Here is the playlist - Youtube can be very flaky when you associate a match to a playlist when uploading so it took some time to get all the videos together: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1xHYZmEaJtSNEzDr3s4QfdQD3_B6ICvu May do an edit someday if we want to advertise but right now...

I always tried to understand the link between grip pressure and racket acceleration as inputs and ball quality as outputs and you gave me stuff to think about. I wish I had taped it because it would have been pretty good to study. When I read everyone rambling (HAHAHA) now and put your voices...

Here is the legendary match - I make a comeback in every game from games 3-5. I've posted all the videos on youtube for Saturday but I haven't labelled them all yet.

Not sure how long you have been following this whole rigmarole from Pnatchwey which dates back to mytabletennis.net (where he is now banned), but Pnatchwey likes to cite the argument that dwell time is so short that people cannot change it during the shot (likely very true based on knowledge...

I had DeWitt down 1-2 games, 2-5 4th set at Westchester in January (or December) before collapsing after a ball busting point. This win at least lets me close the chapter on that loss. And I think BH Man's demonstration of a few things helped me appreciate DeWitt's game better and even...

Was it a coincidence that DeWitt goes down after NL gets pertinent advice from Der_Echte and PingPongHolic, or did DeWitt have those old age bad day blues given he lost two more matches after the NL stunner? Let the pundits speculate.

Breaking News. NL beat Rich DeWitt 11-9 in the fifth after being down 0-2.

Played a lot of great matches (lost of all them). Lost to Der Echte (he should be called HTS_Man, or High Toss Servy Dude, not BH_Man), Lost to Carl's BH Smashing friend dude (that guy makes me want to bring back my smash game) and lost to PingPongHolic (he plays faster that even the kids I...
  13. Receiving Deceptive Serves

Learn to serve different spins then learn to serve with some deception. You can't understand deception unless you can create some of it. And understanding the racket angles and contacts required to return serves is helped by understanding the racket angles and contacts used to create them.

Matt primarily coaches the lefties - the kid is left handed.
  15. Der_Echte in NYC

Well, while I am joking, let's just say if he had your backhand technique, I wouldn't complain at all when playing him though unfortunately, he is a lefty so it doesn't help me as much as it could. Your backhand technique relies a lot on your physical strength to work.

"Thou shalt have no other blade before me!" says the Loop King. So I shall sneak into New York and cover my head with oil so that I evade the wrath of the might blade... Damn royalty...

He was a T05 user and wanted a T05 substitute. He did try my MX-S and felt that the sponge hardness would be a challenge for his away from the table game where MX-S provides less catapult. He is not the usual penholder if you watch the match - penhold just supports the game he likes to play...
  18. Which Rubber do you think got the nicest sound?

They tend to be louder because of easier topsheet and sponge deformation. Of course, getting to the wood is also easier so it puts certain demands on your technique.

Westchester and Lily Yip are #1 and #2 in some order in terms of facilities. Everyone else lags significantly in some respect - the main reason MDTTC lags is age related - if they had the same people start it today, they would be different. You see something similar in Princeton Pong, though...
  20. Evolution MX-P with Virtuoso + or V'King

Kaizoku, I will repeat myself - get the rubber in 2.0mm. Can anyone tell that the rubber I am using here is 2.0mm MX-S? By the way, my opponent is using MX-P in max on his forehand:
