  1. Serves

Yeah i dont think he serves over the table, the bigger issue is the ball disappearing behind his head on the way down which obscures a lot of information from the receiver, and is against the rules (ball must be visible the entire way from toss to contact). But anyway, everyone serves like that...
  2. Best serve receive tutorials?

With higher level servers you have no idea of knowing. So you need to react faster. I know some people guess but that is not my preferred way and if you guess too much and get unlucky you will lose really badly. 1) bend forward until your eyes are literally around net height like a cat ready to...
  3. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Harimoto finally started using the reverse pendulum serve!
  4. Do you teach or correct other people's techniques?

I get lots of unsolicited advice, and I learnt from some of them so I don't mind it. But I dont give it out unless we're just discussing stuff in a friendly way....
  5. Benyamin Faraji defeats Lin Shidong

Yep it was useless to slow loop it to the elbow, those were the easiest for Faraji to pivot loopkill off. Just slow loop to wide BH to force the BH block/counter and then keep hammering that BH. If there is any pivot action just switch it down the line. It's as if LSD forgot how to play FH...
  6. Benyamin Faraji defeats Lin Shidong

But basically, this match (and the previous one) just shows how powerful the hook serve is lol - it is literally the meta in table tennis.
  7. Benyamin Faraji defeats Lin Shidong

Can't really handle the extremely spinny hook serve that Faraji has even if it is going long. If he loops slow it would be counterlooped bad. Faraji just needed to serve long, wait for the slow open up, then crunch the counterloopkill. If LSD did anything else it would also be long and he can...
  8. ITTF-ATTU Asian Teams Championships 2025, Bhubaneswar, 10/11-15

Lmao Faraji once again strikes! I have no idea how Lin Shidong lost, so many weird mistakes and weird tactics... Lin Shidong just really had to add more sidespin to his BH opening loop to really increase the pivot difficulty for Faraji, and then force the BH-BH exchange until Faraji gives up...
  9. Meeting My Idol Zhang Jike - China Trip Vlog

    Made Zhang Jike sweat, nice!
  10. UFO shot (ie BH topspin with FH side rubber)

Bh topspin using FH rubber without twiddling
  11. Butterfly Zyre 03

Everyone talking about how it loops, but how does it perform in the short game?
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Played after 7 months of inactivity lol. Felt like a sloth on the table and I couldn't even get my FH pendulum serves from working in the beginning but later got the hang of. Paired with a very speedy and fast player who I found very hard to rally against. In general I had more spin, he was way...
  13. I am a TPB-only player for now. Out of curiosity, is it easier to do TPB with Cpen or Jpen?

Yep precisely. The problem is not that you cant do sidespin flicks - with Xu Xin style strawberry shots you can in fact flick it with both sidespin directions with just FH rubber and it is way more deceptive than shakehand, but does it really help? The flick just forces the game to go into...
  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yeah no point on doing such complicated stuff. Just literally serve short no spin and attack their long pushes or weak flicks - they cant add a lot to an empty ball. I dont think they will be able to short push it. And on the receive loop all their serves if possible, if it is short then just...
  15. China Smash 2025

WCQ really fears defence and rally monsters who can defend his 1st attack and then consistently dominate in the rallies with heavy spin. Players like Fan Zhendong or ZJK before - but Fan Zhendong seems to have passed the crown to Wang Chuqin for no good reason...
  16. China Smash 2025

Biggest problem Felix had is he couldn't read the spin on Wang Chuqin's serves, whereas Wang Chuqin was reading his serves like a book. It was strange that Felix only served FH pendulum - no hook serves or RPB serves? Wang Chuqin's fast long serves (coming with either underspin or no spin or...
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I find that YG serve is a bit tough on the wrist and hands imo. I used to serve a lot of YG too but after learning the hook, i find that hook serve achieves the same spin effect and has many advantages over the YG serve imo. Hook serve has more spin variations and is way more deceptive to boot...
  18. China Smash 2025

XP would be a dream matchup for Felix - it is too difficult to pivot against the RPB sidespin and XP's BH is not at the same level as the rest of the CNT. So Felix can just force the BH-BH rallies and win there. WCQ is a different kettle of fish because he is a lefty, the natural RPB sidespin...
  19. I am a TPB-only player for now. Out of curiosity, is it easier to do TPB with Cpen or Jpen?

From the other side, I fear the Jpen TPB a lot more than Cpen.
  20. Tried BH loop against underspin again

Feels super unstable especially on the racket angle flailing about too much. If you're starting out i would highly recommend to keep it simple.
