Crazy match. The final comeback from SYS was epic to say the least. Miwa nearly got her by super outrageous BH down the line counters that would put her brother to shame (Tomokazu where is your BH these days?!!!). I have a feeling that Miwa will best her brother these days in BH-BH. Tomokazu...
  3. Feedback on my League games

From your diagram, this is clockwise sidespin from your perspective. Notice how if you contact on the right side of the ball it is actually where the strong spin axis is. Around the back of the ball is actually relatively easier to loop than on the right side. On recovery this is because you...
  4. Having trouble attacking down the line with Backhand - any tips? (pic included)

it is a bit technical, but in BH topspin you usually roll over the top of the ball, but if you roll over to the right side of the ball you will fade the ball.
  5. Feedback on my League games

He doesnt know how to FH loop confidently against righty BH serves because he is still going against the spin rather with the spin (ie hook loop it a bit on the right side of the ball). The way he is doing, he will eat the effects of the incoming spin full on. This is why he never had the...

I changed back to 2x inverted again. Antispin BH is effective and is fun for a bit of trolling but I don't really enjoy the playstyle tbh (neither do my opponents). Ultimately TT is about fun and doing cool stuff, and I think for me 2x inverted maximizes the joy I have. It took a bit to adjust...
  7. Feedback on my League games

As a righty, you do not want to FH hook loop any clockwise sidespin balls....just loop it on the back to avoid the sidespin otherwise the contact will be too difficult to time. Have posted a lot of these in various threads. One thing i noticed is that you are not explosive when you recover your...
  8. Having trouble attacking down the line with Backhand - any tips? (pic included)

For me i fade the ball to get opposite sidespin to make the ball unreachable. Adjusting with the body - you can suddenly rotate to the left by pulling your left leg back or moving forward with your right leg. Moving forward with right leg is good for shorter balls and pulling left leg back is...
  9. Having trouble attacking down the line with Backhand - any tips? (pic included)

You adjust with the body, and a bit with the hand too. Watch the Butterfly Japan tutorials with Harimoto
  10. 34th ITTF-ATTU Asian Cup 2025, Shenzhen, 2/19-23

Harimoto needs to train a BH loopkill against underspin. All the point patterns where he loses dramatically are basically ppl pushing long to his BH to invite his slow weak opening loop, and then counterloop it with heavy af spin to get the advantage in the rally. I remember that he used to...
  11. How should I return short and low no spin serves that come to my backhand other than pushing them long or slowly flicking them being left handed?

This makes me really want to go back to inverted BH which allows me to use chiquita to immediately get an advantage. Antispin BH is really bad against this sort of light underspin short serve with an opponent determined to attack your return hard.
  12. How should I return short and low no spin serves that come to my backhand other than pushing them long or slowly flicking them being left handed?

Yeah, if I chiquitaed it I would win the point like 70-80% of the time. It is not like playing against a pro like LSS who will absolutely counterloop any weak ones and blast them back.
  13. How should I return short and low no spin serves that come to my backhand other than pushing them long or slowly flicking them being left handed?

yeah those are spin misreads not so much that he cant do it. There is no serve that cannot be chiquitaed if one anticipates well, gets to the right position in time, and reads the spin correctly.
  14. How should I return short and low no spin serves that come to my backhand other than pushing them long or slowly flicking them being left handed?

FZD for sure can chiquita everything there. It is just that he wants variation in his receive, not that he cant. Chiquita is really easy to add a huge ton of spin onto short balls. If it exits the left side of the table you can even make the movement larger and stronger. But of course chiquita...
  15. Best alternatives to Dignics 09C?

It is basically this: https://www.taobao.com/list/item/wap/650820558547.htm Well i just did a treatment for my 2yr old D05 and it worked wonders, now it is back to being spinny af.
  16. How should I return short and low no spin serves that come to my backhand other than pushing them long or slowly flicking them being left handed?

Easy, these are all opportunity balls for chiquita. I wish ppl served this to me but they never do :(
  17. Best alternatives to Dignics 09C?

I use D05 treated with tackiness enhancer. It lasts forever and produces a shit ton of spin just like 09c. All the benefits without the downsides imo.
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

played recently with a combination LP/inverted penholder with very good serves and lost quite a few games with the anti (I usually beat him or am close with 2x inverted) which led me to realize that there are some weaknesses with anti BH too. So as usual with penholders their FH is very strong...
  19. Which part of body use is more important when doing forehand topspin?

You can use addition, where you learn and master one part first, then slowly add components to the stroke. I dont think the order matters that much.
