  1. Banish long pips

The best combo imo is pips BH + inverted FH. Use inverted FH to serve, pips to disgust opponents and then inverted finish off weaker balls. It can be incredibly strong. Even at pro level you can see this style being employed quite successfully in the women's game.

  3. Correct Technique for Arm on Forehand Topspin

Even within Chinese internet. ZJK teaches his students to learn how to brush first. Then add power. Whereas Fang Bo's camp teaches to first find the feeling to generate a solid hit (ie body power first), then add the spin later via different exercises. Then some other exercises to combine the...
  4. Correct Technique for Arm on Forehand Topspin

I also have a different idea of building a stroke. Although the bigger muscles come first in terms of force generation, the smaller muscles are the final force generators which directly control what goes into the ball. Imo elbow and finger/wrist use must come first. For me focusing on body...
  5. Correct Technique for Arm on Forehand Topspin

I would probably add that finger use is also a very important step. The 2 finger lever arm concept to brush the ball from Ti Long really transformed my game because it really improved the spin quality i could get, especially in tough situations where i am not completely in position. Also you can...
  6. Proposal for serve rule change in doubles

To be honest, in club matches it is not necessary to follow ITTF laws. You can always play doubles with these new rules as you like...
  7. Proposal for serve rule change in doubles

I agree, the diagonal service rule seems kinda stupid imo. So everyone is doing heavy backspin / no spin variation serves and it is super boring to watch. Why not just throw the gates wide open and allow service to any corner the server likes.
  8. Correct Technique for Arm on Forehand Topspin

It is just the basic structure. A loop structure must be highly flexible in order to adapt to the enormous variation of incoming balls. For starters one must have the flexibility to lift the heaviest backspin or to press down / neutralise the heavy incoming topspin and what tricks are there to...
  9. Asking for Strategy against these 2 Players

Not that right, just slightly more on the right side. Yes it will go out to the BH if you hit it perpendicularly. However the stroke trajectory of a hook loop has a curve to it, so if you curve it more towards the right (even when contacting it slightly on the right side), you can even aim to...

Kudos to WTT for finally giving us a good angle to watch!!!!!!
  11. Asking for Strategy against these 2 Players

Black shirt guy repeatedly failed to loop red shirt guy's BH pendulum serve because he was trying to contact on right side ie hook loop it which is basically the hardest way to loop that particular sidespin archetype (regardless of it being sidetop or sideunder).
  12. Asking for Strategy against these 2 Players

Tip to loop heavy sideunder, sidetop services and stop being afraid of them. So the idea is to go with the sidespin and not against it. What that means is: if the ball is spinning clockwise, hit it in a way to continue spinning it clockwise and so forth. For eg with righty vs righty. FH...
  13. Asking for Strategy against these 2 Players

Lefty BH pendulum has same type of spin as righty FH pendulum. So if he is terrible against lefty BH pendulum to his BH, most likely he will also be terrible against righty FH pendulum to his BH. You are correct in your interpretation for the most part. It is all about exploiting their...
  14. Asking for Strategy against these 2 Players

Guy in red (lefty) is good at receiving BH pendulum type sidespin with his FH, but does he know how to receive FH pendulum type sidespin serves from a righty? Also it appears that his half long loop for balls exiting the sides of the table (on FH side) is weak. Also his BH attack seems weak too...

  16. My nightmare opponent

Wow why is this guy not in WTT? The footwork, FH and even BH level is extremely high. He moves real fast and even hits very strongly with his BH pips (truly using body power, unlike some other European pips players). I think he can upset some high ranked players with this.
  17. My nightmare opponent

I suspect Gucchy is actually giving a chance to whoever appears on his channel to shine and intentionally does not try to play to win. Tbh this is the worst strategy against LP, almost everything he is doing is precisely what not to do, especially giving short underspin balls to the LP player...
