  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Vis is definitely a different animal than other blades. You're completely right that you cannot afford to have 'low acceleration' otherwise your strokes will be quite flat and you don't have the spin required. It is quite easy to play hard and flat with Viscaria because of how fast the ball...
  2. Footwork..

For me personally, there is nothing that quality shadow practice cannot fix. But it has to be high quality - you have to really imagine it. I do a lot of shadow practice even at the table. It works a lot better to have it nailed before even going to the table. And you just have to try the new...
  3. Asking for Strategy against these 2 Players

Yep pretty much. It is a bit of a 'cheat' i use to increase my loop landing rates.
  4. Why is Ma Long so good?

One thing a lot of ppl dont give credit enough is Ma Long's understanding of spin. It was demonstrated some time ago when WCQ and LJK lost to Hou Yingchao, ML later demolished Hou Yingchao (i think maybe 11-3 or sth), reading the spin so effortlessly and barely making any unforced errors when...
  5. Perform in multiball but not in game

Not just that, he should try pushing on the left side of the ball or on the right side of the ball during multiball, and the opponent needs to adjust accordingly. TensorBH is giving straight backspin which almost never happens in his partner's matches because he never serves straight backspin...
  6. Asking for Strategy against these 2 Players

Yes you can brute force loop most balls on the back, it is just not as error tolerant compared to riding the sidespin. Even against pure backspin balls without much sidespin component, it feels a lot better to contact it a bit more on the side to increase dwell time and avoid the strong spin...
  7. Asking for Strategy against these 2 Players

All of the sidespin related videos are in Chinese unfortunately. Yes it is from your perspective. If opponent does a normal BH push against your FH pendulum it will rotate clockwise (it will curve towards your left). If they are BH sideswiping or fading the push or if they touch the ball on...
  8. How do you defend against smashes?

You just have to train 10,000 hrs!
  9. How do you defend against smashes?

Countersmash the smash, ala He Zhi Wen style. Just be faster xD
  10. Perform in multiball but not in game

The other major problem is that usually multiball has way lower sidespin content than a serve receive, especially off pendulum serves. If the guy wants to loop the 3rd ball well he needs to train against sideunder of the same type, not just underspin balls. Or learn how to serve without sidespin.
  11. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Lind's serve is really spinny, they recorded 3500+rpm on his short serve which is just crazy considering that a lot of full blown loops are only about 6000-7000rpm.
  12. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Pretty funny that everyone is hiding their serve against WCQ. Lind vs WCQ was pretty much who can hide the serve better lmao. Once WCQ doesnt have his serve advantage, his strength in the other parts of the game is way below FZD or Ma Long. Now that LSD is the hot upcoming star, his position...
  13. Banish long pips

The biggest problem with pips both sides is that pips serve is a lot less threatening than inverted. Idesawa is a pro and also a lefty and definitely has put in a huge amount of work in her serve. If you have inverted FH it allows you to really gain advantage with your serve, but still being...
  14. Asking for Strategy against these 2 Players

Watched a bit more. So there is a technical problem with the BH because it's the upper body (the entire upper body not just one part) doesn't carry the ball - it's quite arm driven. This is also why you missed quite a bit of BH loops - you're not really powering the loop directly with the legs...
  15. Asking for Strategy against these 2 Players

I watched just a bit and it seems like you were very aggressive in looping this time which worked really well as you can see. Ines only serves BH pendulum or FH tomahawk which is pretty much the same sidespin archetype. She serves it a lot to your short FH or half long which is the hardest...
  16. Advice on my serves and everything else

Basically there are just 7 types of spin in TT. Heavy under, no spin, topspin, clockwise sideunder/sidetop, anticlockwise sideunder/sidetop. Once you know what to do precisely for each of these 7 types of ball, your success rates will skyrocket. Dont just mentally treat every ball as an incoming...
  17. Advice on my serves and everything else

There is a recovery and quality issue in your serve because you dont use weight transfer and hip rotation well. Similar to loops, it is required for high level service. So for FH serves, start with weight on left foot, then use the transfer from left foot to right foot to throw the ball up...
  18. Banish long pips

Fang Yinchi recently played a few challenge matches against some very high level amateurs. 1 was double inverted, the other was BH anti FH inverted. He absolutely destroyed the double inverted player but actually visibly struggled a bit with the anti player because the anti balls were weird...
  19. Which is the best?

Spin helps to land balls on the table which is way more important...
  20. Proposal for serve rule change in doubles

Exactly. To be honest, the serve/receive game in doubles have become super stale - where the meta is just short heavy backspin / no spin serves, then usually some short push battle and then transitioning into loop to loop. There is no opportunity to bring in the wide variety of serve/receive...
