  1. NDH Looping with new Garaydia ZLC

Didn't manage to get any match footage tonight, and only had 2 mins left after the match before it closed. Thought I'd add some loop to loop action into the mix! I made a conscious effort to keep my feet more level, and to take the ball earlier. Thoughts welcome. <iframe width="560"...
  2. NDH Looping with new Garaydia ZLC

Haha, thanks - I'm not sure positing a video of myself absolutely annihilating each loop would have shown an awful lot. So yeah, I was probably around the 50% mark going for consistency! I was also just trying to get into a rhythm with the new bat (seeing as I only picked it up an hour before!).
  3. US Rating VS Rest of World

I think you are partly right. However, it's difficult to know/prove 100% either way. Our top guys achieved the majority of their success through the UK set up - Like with any sport, once they achieved a world class level, they looked for the best place to keep on improving (which, as you...
  4. US Rating VS Rest of World

I can safely say, that in the UK, that is not entirely true. Kids might start it in school (although TT in schools is still very very small), but if they want to take it up as a hobby or something more, they go to a club. There is normally at least 1 junior "coaching" session in every town -...
  5. NDH Looping with new Garaydia ZLC

I'm not trying to hit the ball very hard. If my right shoulder has followed so far that it is much closer to the table than my left, then (in my opinion), I've gone too far on my follow through (for consistent play). If I was trying to go for speed, it would be slightly different, and you...
  6. US Rating VS Rest of World

It appears very difficult for non US folk to comprehend the sheer size of the states over there. Where I live in England, there are probably around 50 individual locations where I could play TT within an hours drive! Most of these locations simply put out a team in the league, and don't...
  7. US Rating VS Rest of World

Hey guys, I know it's been touched on briefly in other threads, but I thought I'd see if we could bring all the info together for everyone to see in one place. How do you players in the USA get your rating? From what I've seen on the forum, you have no regular league? Is it purely tournaments...
  8. Backhand rubber

Not tried it I'm afraid so I can't comment.
  9. Backhand rubber

I'd agree. Hurricane 3 is horrible on the backhand. Tenergy 05 would be my preference out of the 3 you've listed - But I use Tenergy 64 as I find it better for blocking!
  10. NDH Looping with new Garaydia ZLC

You are correct. I'm not sure if it's just because it was a looping drill and I was just subconsciously expecting the ball back in the same place. Hopefully the the match footage will show better lateral movement...... Or it'll give me something to work on!
  11. NDH Looping with new Garaydia ZLC

I try and play around mid to far distance from the table - I've got a big wingspan and can reach/loop at a stretch if need be. I should probably improve my very close to the table play, but given my height and size, I find quicker players can exploit my weaknesses (into the body/elbow) much...
  12. NDH Looping with new Garaydia ZLC

Yeah I do - I'm going to try and get some match play footage soon. i took a step down in Power from the Schlager because I found too many opening loops going long (and the short game was tricky which allowed the opponent to get the first shot in). I I also found myself fishing around the back...
  13. NDH Looping with new Garaydia ZLC

You've spoken about why you can't though - and you've adapted your game to suit which is impressive. As as for the speed - I found it much slower than what I'm used to. It's like driving s car for 250mph for years..... And then buying a new car which only goes 200mph...... It's still faster...
  14. NDH Looping with new Garaydia ZLC

    "Constructive" criticism always welcome......
  15. Garaydia ZLC Reviews?

I think you'll be very happy. The overall finish and quality of the blade is better than any I've seen before.
  16. Garaydia ZLC Reviews?

Just for you ;) Left is G ZLC and right is SC.
  17. Garaydia ZLC Reviews?

It was very good. Great on serve and opening loop. If you like the feeling of the ALC's you've played with - I think you'll like the Garaydia ALC!
  18. Garaydia ZLC Reviews?

I'm guessing you haven't played a huge amount? Feeling is of course very personal, and that is what I am reviewing. The hard facts and figures are published by the manufacturers. I suggest if you want to know the thickness of each one down to the millimetre, you should probably check them out...
  19. Garaydia ZLC Reviews?

I think it's worth remembering that I have been playing with a Schlager Carbon for years now (and had become very used to the speed). So when people say "Look at the Garaydia ZLC, it's super quick...." To me, it really wasn't. All I can compare my findings on is what I am used to. On top of...
  20. Garaydia ZLC Reviews?

My humblest apologies Kucamonga - To the naked eye, I would say the plies on the G ZLC are 0.00000000000000001mm thinner than the SC.
