  1. Dignics05 and Tenergy05 hard alternative under 30$ hehee

For good FH rubbers on a budget, just buy commercial H3 and boost it for cheapo high performing rubbers lol
  2. Dignics05 and Tenergy05 hard alternative under 30$ hehee

8-80 is a very good spinny rubber, but I like D05 better for the BH tho due to the sheer speed I can put. But Hurricane 8-80 is a super underrated rubber for sure. Unfortunately can't really be used on FH well because 8-80 is unstable at very high power impacts on the FH.
  3. Senior Magician. Moscow training Center.

Lol this is crossing the net very high, you could do all sorts of nasty downwards pushes or flicks on it. There's a reason why pros don't use these high trajectory ghost serves because once the receive is directed downwards, the server is in all kinds of trouble.
  4. Looping every long serve

Or just train up a "dead" loop on the BH (which is pretty much just lifting the backspin) to really throw them off. I too like hard loops but they aren't always achievable against very tricky serves...
  5. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

My 2 yr old D05 finally broke down today. The spin finally died lol. I'm thinking of replacing it with a D09c for my FH for more increased control and spin, but having some doubts because D05 is such a durability king...
  6. China Table Tennis Super League-2023 (Finals)

Kinda stupid decision imo. WCQ is the star player and should have played both singles and LJK would have won at least 1. Can't believe they lost with such strong players on the team!
  7. China Table Tennis Super League-2023 (Finals)

Zhou Qihao shouldn't have been the singles player - he is unreliable af lol, just looked like he was fooling around and not even being disciplined in his mental focus or footwork....
  8. lobbing technique

Same thing for most TT related things. Spin the ball and guide it, use more body and less hand to control the ball. And footwork to reach the ball rather than trying to use your hand.
  9. Which is better value for money Tenergy 05 or Dignics 05?

+1 I have a sheet that is 2 yrs old and I can still spin the crap out of the ball with it, unlike many other rubbers....
  10. Rubbers choice for my playstyle

I think in topspin rallies it's more power vs speed too. The ball from 09c goes out at a later timing than 05 but with more security and arc like you said, which allows you to put a lot more power into the shot. For me the ultimate D05 BH is something like Harimoto and Lin Yun Ju's - close table...
  11. Rubbers choice for my playstyle

On chiquita, the underspin bites too much on tacky rubber which makes it harder to chiquita heavy short underspin serves (not impossible, just that you have to be more precise with the contact) compared to D05. With chiquita the table is in the way so you can't do a full swing to override the...
  12. Rubbers choice for my playstyle

It depends whether you like chiquita better or if you like short push better. D09c is quite good for short push but is only OK for chiquita. The problem is that D09c is more spin sensitive compared to D05 due to added tackiness which makes it not so great at chiquita where you want less spin...
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Had some serious sore legs from the gym so my looping was terrible lol today. But I learnt quite a disgusting BH sidespin return which worked even better than the chiquita in terms of receiving FH pendulum sidetopspin serves to the extreme BH corner. This is similar to the sidespin chopblock but...
  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I think I know why - I usually don't like to step backwards with the right foot....I always feel like if I step backwards I'm giving up table coverage, which may not necessarily be true.
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I'm actually kinda interested to know how you can FH loopkill fast long serves to the wide FH - any tips for that? I can loopkill slower serves that drift long pretty comfortably but never the fast long ones (end line to end line types, usually with sideunderspin or sidetopspin), even if I add a...
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Tbh I tried BH chiquita from short FH side and this is where I can't keep up with the footwork (to still deal with BH long serves and also extreme wide BH serves that exit side of the table a lot) - its quite a shame because I actually can do quite a nasty diagonal chiquita from short FH. This...
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Had some improvements in the FH flick technique directly with the receive - first thing is to never try to fight the spin, this ain't the chiquita technique where you have ample reserves of power. You have to kinda ride the spin somewhat and not try to override the incoming spin. I found that...
  18. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

It's the same, I watched Fang Bo's commentary on G5 of Miwa vs Sun Yingsha, Ma Lin basically asked Sun Yingsha to add spin to the BH, and after that the match turned decidedly as Miwa adjusted too slow.
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I finally learnt how to punch properly on the BH, and also do a stable short block also with the BH. Was trying them out and it was quite fun to vary all of them during topspin rallying rather than just doing my usual spin happy counters/loops.
  20. WTT Finals Women Nagoya 2023

What I'm trying to say is that it's not as simple as training, but also gears of spin and spin variation due to CNT training and of course the special Hurricanes they get (which are dramatically superior to what you can get on the market). The CNT opponents are all top pro players who will...
