  1. small note for those who do FHs like me

Thanks, but I would much prefer a straight arm stroke, it seems so much more natural. Will develop and work on this further. Thanks for your input!
  2. Ovtcharov future Euro no.1?

Oops it's the World Cup not the WTTC .... lol at my mistake... I agree about him having a horrible pushing technique
  3. Ma Long - Super Fast Multi Ball

Liu Guoliang is one nasty ball-feeder, he just intentionally messes up Ma Long's timing...sudden frequency changes, sudden speed changes coupled with sudden direction changes.... I wonder how Ma Long copes so well with it.... yikes....
  4. small note for those who do FHs like me

If you compare my elbow position with WLQ elbow position at the finish of the stroke, you'll see the root of my problem. My elbow is tucked next to my body at all times during the stroke, whereas it should be in front of my body! Mizutani seems to have the same problem I do... LOL! look at...
  5. Serve like Par Gerell

I don't use it normally since I can generate massive spin on this serve and when the opponent returns it(my spin returned to me!!!), I make lots of mistakes attacking the return. But I always serve the really heavy backspin version of it during clutch situations( 9-9, 9-10 and deuce moments)...
  6. Michael Maze: No comeback??????

Maze is really talented in his ball feeling, serves and short game. Not many people can do the stuff he does. However, seriously, unless he improves on his rallying skills, footwork and staying ON balance all the time, he would have absolutely no shot of competing against the best.
  7. Ovtcharov future Euro no.1?

Don't look down on Ovtcharov, he stretched Xu Xin to 2:2 recently and also during the 2011 World Championships, he was the 3rd player to get 2 sets off Zhang Jike besides WLQ and Wang Hao. His service is pretty lethal(even Ma Lin agreed to that), and his mid-range looping is extremely powerful...
  8. Which player has the ugliest service action?

I dislike Primorac's FH serve, coz it just plain looks retarded with his tongue sticks out... no offense intended to him though, just the service action... On the other hand, I absolutely love Hao Shuai's serve, because it looks so fluent.
  9. Ma Lin vs Quentin Robinot (VIDEO)

Quentin Robinot has a long way to go. Really nasty serves he has...look at part 1 1:56....Aside from Wang Hao's serve in the Olympics, I've never seen Ma Lin misread serves which have them fly 1m out of the table! He got so many points directly off his serve that it's amazing! Also he moves...
  10. William Henzell's Journey

William's FH has improved so much. Now it looks much better than the 1st video, much more powerful and technically sound. Also he's moving quite a bit faster now. :) He still needs to train up those leg muscles though... :)
  11. Fred's Latest Vid

Fred has pretty good feeling of the ball for topspin strokes, but I would suggest you step up the speed and intensity, to develop good fundamentals to develop him into a top player...hehe...ZJK in one of his interviews, said that his dad used to put a platform underneath him when he was young to...
  12. Ma Long - Backhand Multi Ball

Liu Guoliang wants Ma Long's BH windup to go more to the side than downwards, so that Ma Long can have even greater power. I bet Zhang Jike and Wang Hao regularly hit a lot harder than Ma Long during practice. But seriously, that's already a crazy amount of power Ma Long has.
  13. FH loop video

Yup. My main problem though, is the high centre of gravity. I've tried adopting a wider stance and it works wonders for lowering the centre of gravity(so that I'm not entirely crouching which would slow down movement by heaps). I just practised a bit and it indeed improved my power and spin...
  14. FH loop video

i agree with you. As I've said I'm just trying to "feel" the weight transfer. Until I get the weight transfer correct, I'll rather pop up and down like a clown(!) rather than not have any weight transfer and having a stable centre of gravity. I will fix the gravity part once I feel I've got the...
  15. FH loop video

Yup. I intentionally pull my weight up, so that i can feel the weight transfer helping to "pull" the ball forward and upwards. Of course that has to be minimized once I am more familiar with the weight transfer. But just my opinion. I just looked up a training video of Wang Hao and Wang Liqin...
  16. FH loop video

I've already tried a lot to fix my follow-through but it just doesn't feel natural, it's now not so much to the left. I've tried to lower my centre of gravity by a lot but still it looks high!!!! And my waist just refuses to bend down, it's so hard. What do you guys think?
  17. My training videos

Thanks for all the comments and replies! I have been training my BH a lot this uni semester coz it has been my weak point, but i guess now it's my strong point LOL! I think I need to rework my FH to use more of my body in the stroke. What tips do you guys have to help me to force my legs, hips...
  18. My training videos

The videos are all at my new channel http://www.youtube.com/user/TTblahness. The videos are posted below Hi everyone, if you could watch my videos and give me some constructive suggestions it will be really good! I'm not a professional table tennis player(played very little when i was young...
  19. Playing Backhand in Forehand position.

If u're talking about short balls, even Waldner liked to receive using BH from the FH side especially when playing against left-handers. Recently though, the BH over-the-table loop is much more stable than the FH flick, hence it's popularity in dealing with FH short balls. If you're talking...
  20. Zhang Jike Technique Compilation from a ZJK fan

Thanks a lot! I might post something when my exams are over...:)
