  1. Pro players that don't boost

I wonder if Timo would help me with my footwork?
  2. What is your second passion?

    Obviously to rule the world.
  3. Why I Took Time Away From TT

No longer any doubt about it. It is not self-aware.
  4. What rubbers will go well with Timo Boll Spark

Peeled. A bit old. National version.
  5. What rubbers will go well with Timo Boll Spark

I imagine M3 Bluefire on a Spark would feel a bit like playing TT with a banana.
  6. Coaching adults vs coaching kids

Could be. Those Hungarian guys were using speed glue in 1978 (probably right around the time they discovered the trick). Johansson and Alser definitely were not in 1970. The Hungarian's blades were probably a bit faster too. Johansson's forehand was really compact for his day -- actually...
  7. What rubbers will go well with Timo Boll Spark

I had one when it first came out. Very soft feeling blade (only has arylate, no carbon) and pretty slow. I think you could get away with a faster and harder rubber than M3, but this kind of thing is always a question of taste.
  8. Review of the STIGA Mantra Rubber

I will be recei ing Mantra M in a couple of days. I am very intsrested in rubbers from this factory now.
  9. New era with DHS D40+ 3 Star Balls

I checked a couple, not perfectly round, less round than the Nittaku Premium I compared them to, but they are 1* balls, no big deal. If they were perfect I suppose they would be ***.
  10. Coaching adults vs coaching kids

Suga, then you may like this old match between two of my heroes as a kid. Watching those guys brings back memories (my dad took me to see a team match with those guys when I was a kid). But also amazing how much more effective modern strokes are. Look at how straight Alser was standing...
  11. New era with DHS D40+ 3 Star Balls

I received my 1* version of the new D40+ ball from DHS today. Another fast delivery from TT11!!! A few things I can report already, all good. 1. If you hold it up to the light and look at the seam, and compare, it is identical to that of a Nittaku Premium. Some may remember that that...
  12. two versions of the plastic balls Double Happiness 40+ ( photo Ding Ning)

One other thing on this. Right now we have: 1. Seamless balls. 2. Nittaku Premium balls. 3. Butterfly G40+ balls made in Germany. 4. First generation (bad) Chinese seamed 40+ balls from Double Fish and DHS. These all play differently. Very bad situation. The next generation of Chinese...
  13. two versions of the plastic balls Double Happiness 40+ ( photo Ding Ning)

Tropical, we got off to a bad start, so I will try to make things better. Anyway, I have followed this ball issue really closely from the start. It is probably some of all those things you mentioned. DHS is a huge sponsor of ITTF. The initial versions of 40+ balls they came out with were...
  14. two versions of the plastic balls Double Happiness 40+ ( photo Ding Ning)

No. Not the ***. I wish! Supposedly those are sold on Taobao in China, but I never buy things there. I ordered the training ball versions from TT11. Sometimes you can learn something about what the *** ones will be like by looking at * or ** versions. For example the Nittaku Jtop is a...
  15. Article: Liu Guoliang's Impressions On The New 2017 DHS Plastic Ball!

Also seems to run a bit counter to everything else the ITTF seems to want to do. I guess we will all know what he means when we actually try them. If they are like Nittaku Premiums, I will be happy.

Here is Surbek. Hard to find a longer video but you can see what I mean here.
  18. Coaching adults vs coaching kids

I like this post a lot!! I am a case in point, I was taught to play initially by coaches in Sweden as a kid in the 1970s. In terms of mechanics, coaches in the last several years have actually worked with me to un-learn some things I was specifically taught as a junior, but which are now...
  19. Article: Liu Guoliang's Impressions On The New 2017 DHS Plastic Ball!

The one unfortunate thing is that the CNT will have lots of time to adjust to this thing before anyone else, as if they need any extra advantages. On the other hand, if it is like a Nittaku Premium, that is the solution for training. Anyway, I hope it is good.
