  1. Which rubber to pair my Viscaria?

Tacky rubbers: Xiom Vega China Victas Double Triple Extra (similar to provincial H3) Non tacky Xiom Vega X (similar to D64) Xiom O7 Asia Xiom O7 Tour If you have the budget, you can’t go wrong with Butterfly’s own rubbers: FH D09C BH D64
  2. Blade sugestion

Max carbon is hard. To have a bit more flexibility your best bet is 5-7 ply wood with a hard top ply. DHS Hao 2 Stiga Intensity Stiga Clipper
  3. 26th Asian Table Tennis Championship

I am surprised the final played the best of five. I wonder if FZD had a better chance of they played 7 sets
  4. Post your latest EJ purchase

Acoustic has such an amazing feeling but soft. So better pair up with hard rubbers. Pairs well with both tacky and non tacky
  5. Ma Long H3 at TT11

It’s only usable if: 1- you have the money 💰 2- you know how to apply booster 3- you are well trained to unleash the power
  6. 26th Asian Table Tennis Championship

Lin's FH has improved significantly. FZD exploits Lin's over-reliance on BH. But it's not working as well as it did in the past. The gap is closing. Another issue is Lin's short game. I wonder if playing 42 National H3 will improve Lin's FH further and improve short game??
  7. Fan Z.D ALC personal blade

Probably buy one before the price hike when FZD claims the Olympic title
  8. 26th Asian Table Tennis Championship

SYS is one fire. She is more powerful than CM. If Hayata played CM she could probably get a set.
  9. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

Both are hard as a brick due to thick hard topsheet. The non-Neo needs boosting
  10. 26th Asian Table Tennis Championship

I am disappointed that JPN vs CHN went so quickly. Harimoto seems slower despite more muscle. His Fh rally against WCQ was an obvious disadvantage. I wonder what would be like if Harimoto plays H3 on FH?
  11. Penhold Rubber Selection Advice

TG2 is quite different. It still has the old formula on the topsheet, hence quite tacky. The new H3 isn't as tacky so prepare to adjust your technique for TG2. Nonetheless TG2 is still my favourite rubber, not beginner friendly. I played Snipe 3 on BH, great rubber. Not sensitive to spin...
  12. 26th Asian Table Tennis Championship

    Anything about the Asian champ
  13. Returning to table tennis, lots of change! Did I buy the wrong blade and rubbers?

In fact I did play with a K series Mazunov, it's extremely fast and heavy (>100g) for a 5-ply
  14. For those over 30yo, what could you have done differently?

I've tried these ones, but they seem not working. I've been using the large one that wraps around your whole knee. That gives you a lot of support. The only downside is sweat.
  15. Victas Koki Niwa ZC quality control problem?

I was actually looking forward to trying one of the ZC blades. I will save my money until they fix the problem. Thanks for letting us know
  16. For those over 30yo, what could you have done differently?

Never too late!! Well done for starting one of the toughest sport 😁
  17. For those over 30yo, what could you have done differently?

I know some people become serious in TT training when other responsibilities disappeared (children grown up, financially more stable etc). They often trained in their 40s or even 50s and become very competent in a short time.
  18. Returning to table tennis, lots of change! Did I buy the wrong blade and rubbers?

I would say your current setup is a big step up from your old one. ALC + butterfly rubbers is at least twice faster than your old setup. If you have the money I would go for a hard 5-ply wood + 1.9mm Tenergy
  19. Dead dignics 09c ??

assuming it’s a genuine 09C, it sounds like the new one is tackier, hence your feel of “dead”. If you transition from fast fh rubber such as R53 or D05 to 09C, you will feel it’s “dead” slow. I transitioned from H3 to 09C I found it too lively and too fast 😂👏 What was your previous fh rubber?
  20. For those over 30yo, what could you have done differently?

So much dedication!! I wished I did that instead of aimless hobbies
