  3. DHS Hurricane hardness

With the same hardness and colour of sponge, TG3 is faster and has better feeling than H3. Due to the softer topsheet the ball sinks deeper into TG3 than H3, hence better feeling. The harder topsheet of H3 means higher spin potential.
  4. Golden Hurricane Long 5

Wait for second hand. I got my letter W968 as second hand. Half the price and the feeling is good because it is the old batch.
  5. DHS Hurricane hardness

Hardness of the 4 classic DHS topsheet: H2>TG2>H3>TG3 With the same sponge hardness, a TG2 feels harder and requires more impact than a H3. TG3 performa better than H3 in some aspects such as feeling, speed and linearity. The harder the topsheet, the better in short game and higher spin...
  6. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

I said that. There are 16 different techniques for TPB. This article talks about 8 of them. Sorry all in Chinese but some gif
  7. Golden Hurricane Long 5

Not interested neither unless I have too much money to buy it for collection.
  8. Another Drama (DHS LONG 5 Provincial or Commercial

It’s quite hard to tell without the official DHS card. the other thing is the letter W968 has a slightly larger dimension than the commercial version. Length can measure between 160-162mm. I can’t remember the width.

  10. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

  11. Hurricane 9 official news

No need to, I've played blue sponge provincial for so many years.
  12. Style choices

I am at the crossroad of changing my style. I started out as a penholder, attacking FH from all angles. And I naturally step away from the table so I played spinny game from mid distance. Two years ago I changed to shakehand which greatly improved my FH loop consistency. Yet I still attacked...
  13. Hurricane 9 official news

It’s not for everyone. For me ESN rubbers are too bouncy for me. For that price range #80 performs really well against ESN rubbers.
  14. 40 degree hardness

DHS rubbers are slower than Euro/Jap rubbers at the same hardness due to the tackiness. So no fuss.
  15. WTT Contender Zagreb 2022

Love that match. Kang displayed the strong desire to win despite the 2:9 score. Impressive counter attack for a defender. I would like to see him play in the final!!!
  16. Victas V > 20 Double Extra Review

Thanks Peter for the review. It looks impressive. Victas has made some descent rubbers lately. It says V>20 uses Chinese rubber geometry, does it mean the topsheet has short pimple to improve short game? Is it completely non tacky? I played with Victas TDE, loved the blue sponge and plays just...
  17. 40 degree hardness

Another important factor to consider, the thickness and hardness of the topsheet. For example, TG2 topsheet is thicker and harder than H8. So a 39 degree TG2 feels harder than a 41 degree H8. Same story goes among ESN rubbers too.
  18. Golden Hurricane Long 5

Given its price tag of $400USD, it's not too bad for a golden version. Golden Viscaris is hiking up to $800USD now. Testers in China say the Golden HL5 is less muted than W968, faster with low impact and easier to play with.
  19. Hurricane 9 official news

The #80 sponge is a ESN killer. It's very lively, provides clear feedback, fast and generates a decent amount of spin.
