  1. Adivice on Zhangjike ALC forehand choice

That's interesting. K1 is meant to be the easiest one to use among the entire "K" family. Maybe you are right. Time is a factor. My K1 has lost some noticeable spin after 2 months of usage. It's still tacky, I wonder if the sponge is losing the "boosting" effect which is linked to the spin.
  2. Does softer sponges mean catapult effect is inevitable

Gewo Hype EL Pro 40. In fact it is spinnier than its siblings EL Pro 42.5 and 47.5. Control and feel are superb. Spin is very high. Speed is medium. Among all the soft rubbers I have played - T05 FX, Donic F3, R7 soft, Rasanter 43, H3-50 and Bluefire JP03 Gewo Hype EL Pro 40 is definitely the...
  3. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

On the positive side, well played Dimi. . . each game was tight although LGY achieved a higher consistence overall. Dimi was high on morale but on the 6th game he just made too many little errors, or he could've gone into 7th game.
  4. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

Very disappointed by Franziska. His level is no less than top CNT players. But 0-4 to Harimoto with plenty of errors on his signature BH . . . . :(:(
  5. Adivice on Zhangjike ALC forehand choice

K2 sponge is much harder though. K1 pro has the best performance overall - easier to engage the sponge, tackier topsheet and better control than K2. That's why K1 pro costs more than K2. The only good thing about K2 is speed.
  6. Considering switch in blades YSE to JRE or XOS

I have a old Stiga OC made in the 1990s. Solid handle weight 93g. Massive spin and enough power. Power-wise, it's sitting between YSE and Korbel. I also have a Virtuoso + handmade by OSP. Again solid handle and superb craftsmanship. Power-wise, it's equivalent to Korbel. Let me know if you...
  7. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Interesting!! Probably because of Cazuo Matsumoto?
  8. Adivice on Zhangjike ALC forehand choice

I played ZJK ALC Cpen before. I have used Vega China and K1 Plus. Both have better control but worse spin than H3. I would say Vega China is easier to play than K1 Plus.
  9. 2019 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals

The mixed double and mens double will drain much of Xu Xin's energy. That's why his performance in singles is not as glorious as ML and FZD.
  10. Warning! Weird rubber! Tibhar Grip-S (max with orange sponge)

If you want a Neo H3 alternative, consider Tibhar K1 series. Def less spin, but more engaging sponge and better control.
  11. XX and ML's backhand rubber and the H3-50

XX and ML use a different sponge on their BH, called #65 sponge with a H3 topsheet. You can only get it on Prott.vip and it's expensive ($40 i think??) H3-50 used to be a good alternative but the later batches have very little tack on the topsheet. Feels like Euro rubber instead of Chinese...
  12. Help me with a decicion please!

If budget is not a problem, get a Tibhar K1 on FH and Xiom Vega Europe on BH. Your setup wil be lighter with minimal reduction in speed and spin and higher control.
  13. Where can I find DHS Hurricane Long v

I have an old Ma Long V. I might consider selling it depending on how my new blade performs.
  14. Where can I find DHS Hurricane Long v

Just out of curiosity, why are you looking for the bigger head size?
  15. Men's World Cup 2019

I am glad that FZD has returned to his prime. It still bothers me that FZD lacks creativity at this pro level. His primary placement is still on Harimoto's BH knowing that this young boy has the best BH in the world. Ma Long and Xu Xin know how to get Harimoto running by placing long/short...
  16. New Sanwei rubber - first look

Looks like a ESN-type sponge with medium-size pores, and a tacky topsheet? Another hybrid in the market?
  17. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Nice!! Apparently it's a soft 1-ply hinoki with more flex than others.
  18. Alternative H3 Neo prov 40° boosted

I have played with K1 and K1 plus extensively. I can read Chinese so I know a lot about K1 Pro and K2. You can look at the following comparison: Sponge hardness: K1<K1 plus<K1 Pro<K2 Topsheet tackiness: K2< All K1 Ease of engaging the sponge: K2<K1 plus < K1 Pro < K1 Because K1 pro uses a...
  19. Skyline TG2 Provincial Blue Sponge

Yes because you need to hit hard most of the time to unleash the deadly spin and speed.
