  1. Favorite to win 2024 Olympics?

Luann Jingkun matches up with WCQ reliably well. It all depends on whether rhet will play in the same draw.
  2. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

The forehands he made in that match were amazing. Completely unlike Pitchford to be honest. :ROFLMAO: The movement to cover the angles hit a different level.
  3. Favorite to win 2024 Olympics?

Only LGY and LJK played, LGY was visibly injured in the QF and retired up 2-1, LJK missed the semis entirely vs Zhou Kai because of injury.

XD is fundamentally about how dominant the male player can be and how well the female can defend the male opposing player's shots, even when the female is the relatively higher ranked player. I get the Harimoto/Matsushima optics but I don't subscribe to them. Those teams will only be as good...
  5. Favorite to win 2024 Olympics?

He's not winning the next Olympics but I wonder where his age stands amongst national champs in Chinese history...
  6. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

The biggest thing I think is that Miwa has an XD partner that can grow with her and same with Sora - they are already one of the best XD teams in Japan.
  7. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

That is something he shares with Niwa and Mizutani, lol.
  8. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

Pitchford is in amazing form. But he has been in amazing form before, the question is how long he can keep it...
  9. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

Hugo and Simon have been friends and club teammates for years, including this year in the Bundesliga. They even had the same personal coach for a long time. It is good to see Hugo winning these matchups but he is always vulnerable.
  10. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

    All Japanese, all lefties.
  11. Thoughts and feelings on Yinhe W6 (or alternative blades)?

Thin 5 ply to thin 5 ply is hardly an upgrade IMHO, but to each his own. It is better to get a real upgrade unless it is a blade that you have tested before and like for some reason. At least you learn something about your game.
  12. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

That 2-2, 7-9 edge was killer - good game by Diaz - maybe she needs the points to stay in the top 20 and is inspired lol.
  13. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

Diaz trying to make a statement... can she sign the document?
  14. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

Jun Mizutani beat Wang Liqin (a slight bit over the hill) in 2010 when Mizutani was 21. Sora has a lot of time lol.
  15. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

As long as he is one of the top 2 non-Chinese, it doesn't make a difference. He would need both LYJ/Felix and Hugo to overtake him to get a Chinese QF as a possibility. And even then, maybe he would welcome the challenge.
  16. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

Not having a national title is red flag for sure. But I am fairly confident that two years ago, Sora was the world U15 junior champion beating Felix Lebrun in the final. Though my memory could be wrong. They won doubles together as well I think. Early international senior results are...
  17. Cured of EJ!

This is a dangerously perfect analogy.
  18. Post your latest EJ purchase

I have decided to test the blade of my favorite female player and some Rakza Z and Rakza Z EH. Will post pictures when they arrive. I have also ordered a couple of SDC blades from hipnotic that should be in the mail - will be my first handmade-to-order blades. People have dampened my...
  19. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

I think the goal is also to become the Japanese WTT ranked #1 and that while Lanzhou was an unfortunate setback, she should be able to replace her lowest results with better performances.
  20. WTT Contender Muscat 2023

All things relative, Lin Gaoyuan lacks power too. In the end, the whole package is the key, and Sora competed favorably with Lebrun and Wen Ruibo. And Niwa, who made quite a couple of WTTC and Olympics quarterfinals, is still far ahead where a lot of Japanese have gotten to.
