  1. Xiom Omega 8?

it could also be that, rubber maybe doesn't connect well with the blade? but it's all new gen - blade is TMXi, rubber is the latest, so it shouldn't be a problem, I guess. I think it could be this ice & fire, 2in1 effect bothering me. maybe this is not suited for me ... or I would have to...
  2. Xiom Omega 8?

finally played with Omega 8 Pro ... it's ... well, to be honest - I am disappointed. ok, I did play only for two hours, but yes, I was on the verge of getting also Omega 8 China, so i would have a nice, modern, fresh setup, but am really in doubt now. my version is black, max thicknes. I can...
  3. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

no worries, it wouldn't be first time Xiom would put wrong information about their products (wasn't this the case with Omega V Tour, when it first stated 55 sponge hardness but it was 47.5 in the end?
  4. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

hm ... jumped to Xiom's global webpage ... Hugo TMXi is now there, but it says origin is Korea. picture is an illustration, a vector drawing if you like, it's not a photo of the blade as is the case with TMX(i) AJH (or any older blades, to be honest) ... maybe that is why wood doesn't looks same...
  5. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

I see what you mean, and I didn't know it's that much lighter ... that is quite a difference, yes ... which should translate into playability. AJH TMXi is really sweet blade, I did a lot of testing and kept this one after two strokes. many gears, wooden feeling when you need it, carbon power...
  6. [UPDATED] For Sale - Xiom Blade - Stradivarius FL

damn ... would love to have Hugo HAL, it's not available in EU anymore, but yes - I am in EU, unfortunately ...
  7. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

well, my first thought was - okay, this is a good blade, which is also selling good. they want to keep it, but cannot be named AJH anymore. so I guess it was just renamed? 5.9 to 6.0 maybe just a little offset, like there is weight always displayed with +/-, if you know what I mean. on the...
  8. Omega VII China Guang

    Omega VII China Guang

Xiom Omega VII China Guang is an interesting animal. it is a great rubber, but ... I came across this rubber by a coincidence. I am currently playing with it on forehand on the Xiom AJH TMXi blade. before this hybrid rubber I played with Donic Bluegrip C2 and Bluestar A1, which I liked a lot. I...
  9. New Xiom Blades Series: Hugo Calderano and Lee Seungsoo (TMX / ALX)

interesting, Hugo TMXi Pro is the same side as non-pro AJH TMXi, AJH TMXi Pro was 160x152 … like Hugo ALX will be …
  10. Post your latest EJ purchase

have you maybe opened O8C? how thick is the sponge? on O8P it’s really thick … 🙈
  11. Xiom Omega 8?

I see in your description TMXi + Vega Pro H - is okay? recommend, not recommend? thinking about the O8C, too ... first will try how O8P will play, that thick max sponge is scaring me, but on the other hand should let the ball really sink in nicely ...
  12. Donic Baracuda vs Rakza 7 Soft vs Donic Acuda S3- Backhand Soft Rubber

I played with Rakza 7 and then Rakza 7 Soft for quite a while ... nothing wrong with it, does everything great! in same ballpark is also Xiom Vega Asia DF, which is also great rubber, very nice feel, very grippy, I think I can produce most spin on serve with it ... I don't know what you style...
  13. Explain to me some rubber's packaging

ok. but still - how long does it last if you buy the rubber and don't use it immediately?
  14. Xiom Omega 7 China Guang and Ying

@yogi_bear , quick question - I liked China Guang for it's control and linearity on FH - do you think it would be a good fit for backhand? or would it be too much ... I am technically accomplished player, but do have some problems with backhand and this is the only not-too-tensor-like rubber...
  15. Xiom Omega 7 China Guang and Ying

this was probably answered somewhere else ... I have on my previous blade, now a backup-blade, a China Guang and BlueGrip C2. Guang has quite more control, C2 seems to be a tad bit bouncier. biggest difference to me is China Guang doesn't have that distinct speed-glue effect tensors have, while...
  16. Xiom Omega 8?

I think you are right. I did compare the left overs from cutting the rubber - Omega 5 Euro and Omega 8 Pro are same height ... but the topsheet is lower on O5E, sponge thus marginally taller. and then I added Omega 7 China Guang (2.1) and the sponge seems to be close to Omega 8 Pro ... all three...
  17. Explain to me some rubber's packaging

actually, was just thinking about it due to other thread on this forum, where there was a bit of talking about boosting rubber and how long it is effective ... and practically every review starts with "after opening up the package of the rubber, there was a sweet smell, indicating rubber is...
  18. Tenergy 19 vs Baracuda

you can try BlueGrip S1, should be quite similar, sponge is a bit harder at 47.5° but plays very nicely ... had it on my previous blade for a while on backhand (could be easily used as forehand with no problem, too).
  19. Xiom Omega 8?

sorry, can't compare J&H X47.5 ... yet ... it's on to do list, but for now my local shop provided me with the Omega 8 Pro sheet, black, max thickness and what I noticed immediately was how thick the sponge is ... rubber is quite light for this thickness, 65g for whole sheet, 47g after being cut...
  20. Is the hurricane 3 neo still worth it after tack reduction?

I may have written it wrongly - I played table tennis for 20 years (from as far as I can remember to the age of 24-25, but last years were professional, ok, semi-pro, because I couldn't live just of playing but it was nice money for a student, I think my first match I got paid for was when I was...
