My goal is to get to Fusion tonight and to go see Andy Couchman tomorrow. Hopefully, I will meet plieades at fusion.
  2. Ask Richard Prause a question on the TTD podcast!

Coaching amateur adults vs coaching high level children/adults - do you have expereince with both and are there any major differences to consider?
  3. In London for A Week

Dan, I leave on Friday morning unfortunately. I wasn't even aware of that event...
  4. In London for A Week

Went to Tigers and Dragons today. Hit a lot of balls as I joined the coaching session - I might have overdone it but it's okay. Played a few matches and handed out beat downs. All in good fun though. Will try to be a bit more adventurous on Monday. I wanted to try the fight club but Mum...
  5. In London for A Week

Level of play is not an issue for me. I play people of all levels and usually give and sometimes take whippings. It's really more fun to meet up with forum members than anything else. I can always train at my club or play tournaments for hard competition.
  6. Yinhe Big Dipper

Big Dipper is very similar IMO to a Hurricane Neo, maybe a little faster. For most people, it is cheap enough to just buy and experiment. I used it a lot when rebuilding my forehand and I found it pretty helpful. To get the best out of it, you have to be a brush looper who enjoys making thick...
  7. In London for A Week

I should be in London for a week starting tomorrow. I'm not planning to play any table tennis, but I might if a convenient opportunity comes (I will carry one of my non-main setups so I will have an excuse while getting killed if I stumble into a club - "If I had my Innerforce ZLC with...
  8. The Advanced Response Blade - The Future of Table Tennis Now! - by Anthony.R.Brown

Rayeez, Once you know he is a troll, 99% of the effect is gone. And as long as he is not ambushing innocent members, all is well. I mean, look at the last post - it's a hoot. And on that, I am with Carl.
  9. The Advanced Response Blade - The Future of Table Tennis Now! - by Anthony.R.Brown

You don't have to join in. Carl is having fun. You go have your fun elsewhere.
  10. The Advanced Response Blade - The Future of Table Tennis Now! - by Anthony.R.Brown

IT's easier to let him rant here. I almost wish we could do that thing where we hide this thread from everyone except him so he can post here to his heart's content.
  11. The Advanced Response Blade - The Future of Table Tennis Now! - by Anthony.R.Brown

He's played with it just as much as you have, that's for sure ;). This thread is going to be epic!
  12. Shall I change from Penhold to shakehand?

You can play both and have fun. There is no reason why. I tell my students that I have switched grips enough times to know that it is not as suicidal as some think if you just have fun for a while and learn.
  13. Donations?

I achieved some of my best tournament performances with all round blades. I used an Appelgren AR Exclusive when I beat a 2100+ short pips hitter with lefty illegal serves. There are many good cheap blades out there. Go to colestt.com and get something in your budget.
  14. Ma Long's Forehand

The video is beautifully inspirational. I don't think I have gotten as excited watching someone loop before. When you see me practice looping going forward, you know my inspiration.
  15. Ma Long's Forehand

Wow - I had no clue that was Korbel - the title just said so and I didn't read it. ;) Give me a break...
  16. Ma Long's Forehand

Here is another guy that a coach I like proposed as a model. This is going to be how I want my strokes to look like going forward (accounting for my bad knees and less physicality, of course). The level of relaxation is just oozing from his body:

Despite what I said earlier, she is worth learning from:
  18. The Advanced Response Blade - The Future of Table Tennis Now! - by Anthony.R.Brown

I agree with everything except the last line. The thread gives him somewhere to pollute where he can be seemingly contained. Famous last words, eh?;)
  19. The Advanced Response Blade - The Future of Table Tennis Now! - by Anthony.R.Brown

It's only bothersome and tiring if you even attend to it. Pnatchwey is now the world's foremost expert on the ARB!
  20. Ma Long's Forehand

As my favorite TT video once said, do you win style points like in figure skating? There are some people who call Timo Boll or Mizutani or even Michael Maze's technique ugly and a chicken-wing forehand. So for me, style is in the eye of the beholder - give me points!
