Yes, but attacking backspin is the deal breaker. I can link to some shots in my matches and let anyone tell me whether that shot would make sense with Akrasia or not.

The best rubber I know for looping backspin is Tibhar MX-S. It is fairly hard and slower vs. topspin, but if you power loop often and move fast, it is extremely rewarding - fantastic spin.

Der_Echte had it so I can't remember. But it was good Tibhar stuff I think.

I looped with it once and found it too fast. Couldn't arc the ball safely.

XP 2008 is fine. Der Echte has an all round backhand and played with it at 1900+ level. I personally prefer SPW to YEO but you need to try SPW (borrow one) and see if it fits. I personally would recommend that you stick with what you are using now for 4-12 months, ideally at least 6 months...

I actually disagree with Carl on how strong VarioClean is - the other glues I have tried or seen on other people's blades are much worse. I have never sealed any of my blades and VarioClean is easier to remove if you use an unnecessarily thick layer as many players do.
