Will Shortz' latest email about the tournament didn't mention either Primorac or Tokic so I don't think either of them will be playing. I had already been told Primorac would not play. Ionescu is also in New York on vacation. Will have to see if Adrian wants to play, if he does I will bring him.

It's just an error on their part. Can you imagine how many YouTube videos they have to go through to claim rights on during an event like the WTTC? It's quite a significant number. It doesn't surprise me that there are some mistaken claims. Everybody is trying to get their 5 minutes of fame...

Unfortunately I only managed to meet up with Dan and ruin his round the net shot moment :P

Most people I know who use Viscaria use either Hurricane/T64 or T05/T64 combinations. I haven't heard of anyone specifically using soft rubber with it.

They both have Hurricane 3 forehand on Viscaria. I think T64 backhand. Both use the same setup.

Two of the better Chinese players currently competing in the USA had a finals showdown today at my club. Much closer than I thought it would be as Jun Han won 3-0 last time. Will be interesting to see if he can make the final in next week's Westchester tournament to play against Bojan Tokic, I'd...

Jun Han will definitely be there. Adrian I'm not so sure, he's mainly here for vacation he didn't know about the tournament but I told him and gave him the option to go if he wants to. To be honest I'm not sure if he will want to given it's his time off from season. We will see.

Haha ooh didn't know Tokic was here too, time to bring the noise, should I bring Crisan with me? :P

He has two sons. One of them is a basketball player. Not sure if we will see them take up table tennis, maybe the younger one.

No, no and no. Get a hold of yourself. So he's not in the top 10, holy hell that means he's finished. He made the last 4 of last year's Olympics and still made the last 16 at the WTTC this year before losing to a very on-form Lee Sangsu. On any given day Samsonov can still beat players ranked...

Ovtcharov lost to Lee Sangsu in 2015 WTTC should he have retired also? We are talking about a very competent and experienced player losing to someone who has at the top of their form. Lee Sangsu was playing like a monster at the tournament. And to say that Samsonov's style is boring. Look at...

I'm surprised that Ma Long doesn't make the cut, having the profile that he has. Maybe he should work on his public presence a bit ;)

Thanks buddy :)

There is one simple reason. He loves the sport. Remember this is their whole life. Just like Timo he will continue to compete until he feels it is time for him to retire. Perhaps some people might have said previously when he dropped from the top 10 that he should retire. But then he came back...

My last morning in training here. Below is a small clip for the Butterfly SK7 Korbel review which I will be preparing after WTTC. I actually averted a crisis the other day lol we played soccer as a warm-up for the afternoon training session and I took a bit of a tumble. I was kind of fumbling...

It's quite common for the Super League teams to pay big money to 'buy' players for their team. Apparently one team paid 10 million RMB (just under 1.5 million USD) to buy Guo Yan back in the day and that was I think back when she was number 1 in the world which was over 5 years ago.

I have some on my blog like '4 ping pong skills to take you from beginner to winner' and 'the ultimate guide to beating your workmates at ping pong'. I tend to use the term ping pong when i'm writing to a broader audience lol

Oh and here is a video of me working on my backhand loop technique with Korbel. Can't think of many better teachers for it :D <iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FITTFOceania%2Fvideos%2F1553970144626976%2F&show_text=0&width=560"...

I've been in Litovel for the past couple of days visiting my old training partner who used to live in New Zealand. Has been really great. Today I go back to Ostrava and have 4-5 more days of training before I leave to Prague and then on to Dusseldorf! :D

Dan is going to be there, I'm going too obviously :D
