  1. The GOAT of timeout calls!

Inside joke. There's some history between those two;)
  2. Pro Table Tennis Player with a Beginner Bat vs Dan

I completely disagree. As I suggested in my post above yours, he does not want to adjust his stroke to the crapp-bat. So he's just fooling around with the chop game.
  3. Pro Table Tennis Player with a Beginner Bat vs Dan

Interesting. I know a couple of advanced players that switch to a pure retriever-type chopping game when playing hardbat. The reason given was that they did not want to mess with their regular topspin strokes.
  4. Boosting without using water-based glue?

Baal, careful. Players today refer to the old style non-speed VOC glue as speed glue. However, I think he's asking for a speed glue that has no VOC. I don't think that this exists.
  5. French League 2019-2020

That Akkuzu really has some really entertaining strokes.
  6. I can't put the ball on the table on the beggining of the training session.

Proper off table warm-up is always necessary. But let's face it, hardly any of us do any. A little hand flashing and a few knee kicks maybe. One way to get the eye-body coordination and footwork going is to do some chopping from both wings early on in the practice. Try it for 5mins.
  7. What are some of the very fast set-up you have tried with solid control?

I agree. This control thing is very subjective as players tend to refer to control only for certain strokes. I know a high level player that chops a lot with a very fast old Primorac carbon with T05 both sides. His game is essentially defensive with lots of spins, lobs and chops from way off the...
  8. What are some of the very fast set-up you have tried with solid control?

One-ply fragility is very exaggerated Go ahead and try the new versions if you can afford. I have had 2x one-ply blades (a hinoki and a weird old wood) that have split, neither were by Darker. They were easily fixed by a woodworker friend of mine. On the other hand, I have had about 6 regular...
  9. What are some of the very fast set-up you have tried with solid control?

The ultimate speed demon is the Darker speed 90 with T05H. Control is good once you understand the technique, however, the spinny looping game is not easy. The bat is more a drive loop type. Using Globe 999 adds a lot more control for the slow loop game.
  10. Learning Invincible Backhand Serve

It doesn't matter the spin being demonstrated or cleverness of the editing, the serves are illegal, thus opponent wins the point every time. That's the point of my comment. This is the side-on view of the bh serve. I think everyone here can see the problem.
  11. Learning Invincible Backhand Serve

I only got halfway through the video. It's an invincible serve for sure as the receiver wins the point every time.
  12. Rubber press, useless?

I don't why, but a couple years ago, some rubbers seemed to shrink after about a week. From that time, I initially cut new rubbers slightly bigger than the blade, 2-3mm. After a week or so, I trim to fit. I haven't heard anyone complain about shrinking rubbers these days.
  13. Why single-ply hinoki not popular in plastic ball era

I have been using 1-ply blades for about 12years. They do break, as in split in half. I have had two broken blades, but the funny thing is that I don't remember when they broke. You don't notice it till long after as the rubbers hold it together. The good thing is that the break is quite clean...
  14. Ideal parts of the paddle to hit the ball for every stroke?

Discussed in a previous thread with bat markings https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/forum/showthread.php?9170-Where-on-bat-do-you-hit-the-ball
  15. Good blades with hinoki outer ply and composite material?

One can go custom built with the BBC 9-10-9 http://www.bladesbycharlie.com/9-10-9
  16. Rubber press, useless?

Yes, they are. One should tighten to the point where the rubber is flat. If the rubber is bent over, then the press is too tight. BTW, another quick and cheap DIY is to use a flowers press. I see them in Charity shops quite cheap
  17. Rubber press, useless?

You don't need heavy books. It crushes the pips, some say damages some pips. Weight should just be enough to keep the sponge in even contact with the wood. The rubber press is very useful if you are leaving your house with a freshly glued blade as you can pop the whole thing in your bag. BTW...
  18. Butterfly Dignics 05 Rubber Review

Any updates from anyone? A few months have now passed since D05 was released. Has anyone stuck with it? I have, more to get my money's worth than anything else. I am not good enough to give a proper review, however, I have had trouble getting to grips with its capabilities. But it clicked a...
  19. Shout, Mercy! Mercy! Mercy! when your opponent is too good or Brexit gets too much

I first heard this song as a 12yo back in the sixties. It's still one of my favourites. It's also the only tune I know where the crowd is part of the music. "You know, sometimes we're not prepared for adversity, When it happens sometimes we’re caught short. We don’t know exactly how to handle...
