    I must memorise this quote
  2. Guitar Lemon Oil for Blade Handle Color Restoration?

Agreed, but next try using a dense piece of polystyrene instead of sandpaper. Absolutely no risk of affecting the wood
  3. Guitar Lemon Oil for Blade Handle Color Restoration?

Be careful with the oiling and use a very small amount. Oil adds more weight than you think. I learned my lesson years ago when I plastered oil all over the blade, and did it once more when it dried out. Suddenly I went from a normal 88g blade to one that weighed nearly 98g.
  4. Any advice on how to smash a winner?

That serve looks illegal to me........toss was much too vertical. Where's a proper umpire when you need one, eh?
  5. Dignics 05 vs Tenergy 05 | With Timo Boll

How interested would posters be? Genuine question about readers on here. The most popular video car reviews cars are about the latest supercars. These cars are bought by an extremely tiny amount of drivers. Same for photography. The reviews are chiefly about the latest top of the line cameras...
  6. Playstyle in veteran age (40+, 50+...)

Veterans play more or less like they have always played. However, all players are always updating and will shift the playing emphasis of some aspect of their game all the way into old age.
  7. Dignics 05 vs Tenergy 05 | With Timo Boll

Very informative video I liked the Go pro footage. Yes it moves around a bit, but that is what seeing a player's eye view is all about. Especially this part where we see Timo's serve from a new point of view at 5:50. Note that the site won't play video from 5m50s. Moderator?
  8. Opinions wanted on disputed point and lack of officiating

This is an easy one for any umpire. Look at the position from where the chopper hit the ball. If any touch to the table was detected, the point will be awarded to the chopper.
  9. Why doesn't the IITF have a ratings system?

Having for years observed USA posters' obsession with ratings both of themselves and other players, I really hope that it does not become popular in the UK.
  10. Martial Arts & TT

Carl, that is eerie. Are the 'robots' really that good? .......No need to answer of course but I also was taken in. I did think that the post was strange. However,I never thought that it was not a real person.
  11. Net tension?

Don't worry too much about going to the expense and inconvenience of having a metal weight for normal club play. The metal weight gauge was brought in because players used to break the net cord whilst overdoing the tightening of the net. These days, the net cords are much stronger, presumably...
  12. Net tension?

Buy only high quality clip-ons Nothing wrong with good quality Clip-on nets. In fact, I find them better than screw type. Reason being that players tend to over tighten the screw resulting in damage to the table. We have been using the same nets at our club for over 10 years. No damage to...
  13. Varnish - - - > Blade

Use Falco normal glue. It is a thin glue thus will sink into the wood. Apply a couple of layers at first and let dry properly before your normal gluing of the rubbers. It's one reason that players in speed glue days kept their blades for a long time. The glue preserved the wood and even enhanced...
  14. Ma Long serve analysis vs Tomokazu Harimoto

It's an arms race Unintended pun?

  17. Confusion in the last point | Final Austrian Bundesliga 2018/2019

That's an interestingly weird decision. It was a good serve both from my pov and, more importantly, the umpire. The referee must have said something off camera for the umpire to change his decision. Also the opponent pointed off-camera. He may have been pointing to the referee. As I said, weird.
  18. Official Durability Comparison of D05 and T05

Yep, that's the most sensible thing to do.
  19. Official Durability Comparison of D05 and T05

This thread is basically saying that Dignics durability is about on par with Tenergy. That's good enough for me. The Tenergy pair on my bat are about 2-3 yrs old. The ones on the spare are definitely on the end of life parade. But they are about 5yrs old. However, I have a pair of T05H/T05 on order.
