Serve long underspin and attack Unless they're a penholder, play to their inverted. Most likely, they will have a weak inverted game

  5. Palio AK47 appreciation topic

I just put an ak47 blue on my bh to learn to rpb. It seems like a decent rubber so far
  6. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

You just need practice against LP. There are players at my club that are several hundred points lower than me, but have beaten me because they have a lot of experience against LP. As someone mentioned, push one, attack one. Serve underspin and attack the next ball. I use LP because they took...
  7. For those who think pips have a ceiling

Ni is amazing, but I think the best LP player that's ever played professionally is Zhou Xintong.
  8. Should absolute beginners take lessons or just play?

I say it depends on the club you're in. If there are good players, many of them will help you out on the basics if you ask. At least in my club, the better players have no issues helping out the new players.

  10. How to choose long pips?

I use Jupiter Asia 3. But I mainly serve with inverted then twiddle to LP. It's a nice rubber, with an even better price tag. I think you can grab a sheet of it for 8-$10 on AliExpress
  11. How to choose long pips?

Durability, for me, is what I go for. I play penhold with inverted and LP. Due to the finger position of penhold, the pips easily break (LP used to last me about 2 weeks). But, the Saviga V in Green, has lasted me 5 months so far without breaking.
  12. difference between big dipper and jupiter 3?

I've used BD and JP3. I stuck with JP3. Love the rubber, and for 9-13$ you can change it as soon as the tackiness wears off.
  13. Dr Neubauer Blades

Hi TTD Does Dr N make any penhold blades? I am looking at their site and can't find any. I purchased one (firewall+) on eBay but now that I don't see any on their site, I am doubting if the one I purchased is real. Thank you!
  14. Just Joined A Local Club After 22 Years.

Going to my first tournament in a couple of weeks! I have advanced a decent amount. I go 2-4 days a week, and practice my serve at home. Last time I went to play at my club, I almost beat someone that's probably 2000+ (lost 2-3). I lost for months, but then the touch started to come back...
  15. Yinhe Jupiter 3 Amazing Rubber

I have been using Jupiter Asia 3 for 6 months now and I really like it. I tried h3neo, 09c, Big Dipper, barracuda before landing on ja3. I have it on a viscaria for FH. The tackiness last, for me, about 2 months. But for under $15 a sheet, you can just buy one every other month if you like it...
  16. Any Cpen LP users?

Hi TTD, Any other penholders that use LP and twiddle? If so, how long are your LP's lasting due to the fingers rubbing against the pips? Mine are lasting about 2 months before I rip a hole in the sheet. is this normal? Yinhe Neptune lasted about 1.5 months, good news is that it's only like...
  17. Hiding Contact Point?!

Exactly. I do not want an unfair advantage, especially since I am still quite new (came back after 20+ years) and don't want to get any bad habits.
  18. Hiding Contact Point?!

Thank you for all the replies, I really appreciate it! So to avoid this issue, I will start serving to his backhand ( down the line-ish) when doing a pendulum serve. As someone suggested, if you can serve down the line, and don't hide the ball, the serve is legal.
  19. Hiding Contact Point?!

Hi TTD, Today something odd happened at my club. I played a left handed player (never played him before), and he kept saying how he couldn't see the contact point. I kept telling him that he had to move more to his left, but he said you should be able to see the contact point from anywhere on...
