Maybe the Pong Commenter will share vids, make a history of competently analyzing and showing players some obvious things... and thus show us all wrong... ...but until then, he is coming across as a dude with a TT paddle stuck forcibly up hiz tail end and coming out his mouth. That is not a...

... and yess, even Der_Echte, that @NextLevel has not seen in action in almost a decade has greatly improved being more compact... and gaine d a lot of level, but not showing at all in the ratings. I used to tell Carl and NL than my play level was below theirs (and sincerely said that) and...

Nearly every pro Korean vid i just at some point will say this... the stroke is driven by the lower body... (step then hit, etc)
  5. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Hi @dingyibvs local player Ali and Sergey will confirm that last Saturday, I almost belonged in a wheelchair !!! (because of very sever ankle pain inside and deep into ankle !!! Somehow a couple days later, i was able to move normally and get to wide balls. Weird. I would have to conclude that...

NDH is giving away free gold nuggets here... BUT... IF... and only IF you can see the ball well... you can confidently attack that next ball and be a boss of physics. Talk to ur friends and raise enough money to fly me over to your place and I will show you how to attack and finish vs pips and...

@PenHoldSandro What Lula is saying here is an exercise to get you to isolate things... to get you into feeling how it is to set position with elbow and upper arm and keep that stable during the BH stroke. This suggestion is pure Genius stuff in that it is VERY easy to do, costs you zero money...
  8. Video Footage Safe Thread

Hey @PenHoldSandro I see your practice BH... You are doing the shot much like a low power warm-up kind of like you are only trying to keep the ball on the table. Not much explosion, not much bat speed. You move your upper arm and shoulder during the stroke. That kind of stroke is OK for a...
  9. Which rubber can make fast ALC blade slower?

BTY Flextra FTW for your slow it down mission. You might be going in reverse with that sucka.
  10. Best 47-47.5 degree backhand rubber?

Never tried it, so do not know. I have tried reg aurus, soft, and sound, but not prime.
  11. Best 47-47.5 degree backhand rubber?

This is what I suspect is the same as Nexy Karis, which lasts damn FOREVER... a local player here has a 5 yr old sheet of it on both sides and hits the ball with fury and it looks like the damn thing will last another FIVE years before he rips the sheets of his blade with pain and tears.
  12. Best 47-47.5 degree backhand rubber?

Note @Gozo Aruna that Aurus regular is 47-48 degree sponge, but can play softer, because of its supple topsheet. Aurus makes all shots easy and that equates to control, so that is why we feel so good playing it.
  13. Which tibhar blade is this?

I think I still have 5 of those, almost like the Kim Junghoon, but a layer different. Spinners can spin with that blade.
  14. attaching weight to handle. legal?

Yes, this is the argument of balance over total weight. I value lower balance and overall, a heavier weight which makes me play much more stable vs incoming high energy balls. This is NOT... ALWAYS true... but often true. A few overall lighter setups I can play super just fine.
  15. Zhang Jike signs with Donic

Hey Choosistick, Maybe the headshed over at Donic thinks they can do what BTY has done so successfully the last decade plus ka-ching cash... by re-branding that same blade with a high level pro name and different handle design.

Another positive aspect of tt is that players all must face failure and overcome it. Repeatedly. it builds resilience. Often, it makes us better people, often if makes us humble people. There are fewer arrogant tt players compared to the amount in rest of society.

While we are discussing tactics in general... your tactic in quotes while serving to players who do not attack your serve is a very effective way to operate. Why? - opponent isn't attacking and may miss - give you a zero risk point - opponent impacts ball at endline or behind it... give you a...
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

If my opponent does not attack and reasonable return i give him or her, I am not under any pressure or obligation to attack the first attackable ball. Attacking the very first attackable ball 100% of the time vs such an opponent is a way to give away a lot of points needlessly. It is higher...
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes, you hit it right, a person has to handle this stuff themselves... some need only a few reps, some need a lot, some never really get there. It is good you are around to support, it increases his chances.
  20. Your backhand sucks? It's ok brother, don't cry! We're in this together for the long run....

I can confirm that @Jslick89 is seeing the ball WAY better than just 6 months ago and soon his tourney rating will take a small to large jump due to just that area of improvement (which is the number 1 skill in TT IMO)
