  1. How do you handle emotions during a game?

There's a secondary effect too, where the opponent tends to also get nerves and start to make mistakes they probably ought not to. Especially if you're up 4-0 in the first set. :)
  2. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

That was my experience with every rubber except this specific non-Neo blue sponge, so maybe something's funny with it. I measured it right out of the package and before boosting it and it hasn't changed at all except just after the oil had soaked in before gluing. Usually it'll be 2deg per...
  3. How do you handle emotions during a game?

Being a really bad player and always playing with players better than you helps. It's not like you're expected to perform. :P
  4. Hello from China

I haven't been to China personally, but from what I can tell, there are a lot more similarities than differences between hobbyist players compared to other countries. A long time ago people acted like the Chinese are aliens, and all of the hobby players play like pros, and the only rubbers...

I agree. It's pretty fucked up looking still which is a huge benefit to my game, because the opponent is too busy looking at it and not at the ball. I also miss the ball in a much more efficient way now. Coaching can go to hell, get a haircut. EDIT: Bit more EJ talk: Took off this H3 non-Neo...
  6. So I just got a gift - a Timo Ball ALC blade. what rubbers should I get? (for Control)

Based on what I've felt with G-1 vs C-1, if he has to change, then putting C-1 on the weaker wing is probably reasonable. I'm sure there's other differences but it felt like "G-1 but less" to me, and it should just be a G-1 with a little bit softer sponge, so maybe that's enough to take some...
  7. So I just got a gift - a Timo Ball ALC blade. what rubbers should I get? (for Control)

I'd agree with this. Just make one change at a time and adapt to it. Don't use an offensive blade if you're gonna use control rubbers; what's the point?

If that's how it comes across then it's not really the goal. The only thing I do actually well is the pendulum serve, and I've improved very quickly so I have a few pointers for beginners. 95% of what I post is about equipment to begin with. For what it's worth I can take 6~ points off advanced...
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

If you give it a think maybe you can figure out why I'm forced to film later into the evening and not as soon as I show up and the place is packed with people. Maybe I can get some footage from that rear court in the B video if I put the filming equipment inside of the same court. I appreciate...
  10. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yeah, you're right. I don't know why sometimes I revert back to like 90% brush. Occasionally I can drive more forward and the overall quality is just higher. I think when I'm late at swinging at the ball I tend to do that.
  11. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Wasn't supposed to be training today, but it ended up being, so I messaged my partner and he even showed up, so here's a bit more video. To get the excuses out of the way, this is after roughly 3.5h of drilling, so we were playing like Ma Long and Fan Zhendong respectively just a few hours prior...
  12. Looking for a Black Rubber Similar to Yinhe Moon 12 Blue Medium Soft

Hm, I coulda sworn it came in black too. Maybe that was Asia. The feel between 53 Euro and Speed Medium isn't so different, and those also come in black.
  13. Looking for a Black Rubber Similar to Yinhe Moon 12 Blue Medium Soft

Moon Speed 53 Euro will probably have a similar topsheet feel (Moon but less tacky) but the sponge is a bit stiff even in the medium soft version. I don't know how Moon 12 measures, but this is how mine measured: Yinhe Moon Speed 53 EURO M- RED Topsheet 30.0 - 31.0 A / 51.5 - 52.5 O Sponge 30.5...
  14. Hello from China

Battle 3 commercial felt a bit like Hurricane 3 Provincial blue sponge to me when I tried it. It's been a while so I may be wrong, but I didn't need to adapt much to use it. The topsheet is a lot easier to spin with than Battle 2 or Target and the maximum spin is closer to H3.
  15. Motorcycles & table tennis

That's about 100 times nicer than mine. I really take the train to the club and the bike just takes me to the train. It'd take longer to drive!
  16. Post your latest EJ purchase

Once I become so depraved that I'm buying player edition H3 and national team Dignics in bulk, this is probably the next investment.
  17. FH issue: i dun wanna smash no moar, i wanna spin moar. help!

Huge agree on the waiting for the ball part. A ton of people swing first then move, me included. Working on this is the most important thing I've done lately and it's slowed the game down a lot. I don't instantly perform better because of other reasons, but the game is a lot easier and I'm more...
  18. FH issue: i dun wanna smash no moar, i wanna spin moar. help!

I've argued for a while that slower isn't necessarily more controlled or better for learning, it's very complicated. Too slow equipment can in fact harm technical development and I've seen this in beginners and myself. After I switched to more reactive equipment, my FH stroke became more...
  19. Loki RXTON 9 new sponge.

National White is supposed to be between Yellow and Black and mine is sticky, it will make long strands and takes forever to drip. Probably all it is is how concentrated it is.
  20. Post your latest EJ purchase

It's not super sexy, but I bought some zippable freezer bags to store my loose rubbers in so I have a bit more peace of mind about not wearing them out completely, or having them sit around for a while unopened. I feel like this is only something a true EJ would do. Actual normal...
