  1. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

i think the coaches really drilled it very hard this year, he has improved leaps and bounds in those 2 areas. Also he doesn't just go crazy with the BH loopkill anymore, it's a lot more controlled and much less unforced error prone.
  2. Is butterfly overpriced

Yes they are super overpriced, but what can we do? Theyre the only game in town which has 1) high performance without boosting which is a pain for most amateurs. Cant say the same about Hurricane for eg 2) Much longer durability compared to ESN When ESN or DHS manufactures a high performance...
  3. Badpington 😅🏸

Tbh this could be fun if played on a larger court with nets at badminton height level etc... it would literally be one of the world's hardest sports. The ball really curves hard in the air!
  4. Is this forehand topspin technique in the video for both top and back spin half-long serves?

There is no such thing as 1 type of contact for all balls unless the opponent's spin levels are much lower than yours and you can easily overpower it by brute force. But the basic structure should be the same like what is taught.
  5. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Tbh at 8-4 up. Ma Long just really needed that final burst of energy and really, he could have just paced around in the court to waste time to regain his strength. But no, he's just too much of a fair player....
  6. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Ma Long getting tired again.... now it's the final few points. Let's see what tricks he has left in his bag, or is LSD just gonna outlast via better endurance lol
  7. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Not sure why Ma Long dropped in intensity so much in the last 2 games. Fatigue??!
  8. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Yeah, a bit surprising that LSD is actually quite good in the short game, must have been some serious short push training with the coaches. He actually doesnt really favour the chiquita so much even as a BH dominant player - this is quite interesting.
  9. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Yep I saw that, but that doesnt mean he cant chiquita, and Ma Long aint gonna serve long all day long. Even if sometimes you take the chiquita a bit later you can spin it a bit more. He is losing hard in the short push - 1st attack battle against Ma Long. A bit of inexperience there imo... But...
  10. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

LSD needs to somehow simplify the game to get an advantage over Ma Long. Just way too much complexity. Just chiquita as much as possible and get into a topspin rally ASAP. This cat and mouse push + opening loop game is what Ma Long loves. Unfortunate that LSD doesnt have a coach this time...
  11. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

LSD looks a bit lost against Ma Long's variations...
  12. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

That is why I said at this current time, not at other times (where you are correct that Ma Long has been quite superior to FZD)....
  13. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

To be fair, his skillset was a lot more limited when he first burst out on the scene which is when ppl were saying these things. His skillset has really grown tremendously. If you pitted current Ma Long over say 2009 Ma Long, current Ma Long is probably much stronger lol.
  14. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Yep, LJK plays a bit too much like ZJK - too much late timing spin oriented balls which can trouble other players but not Ma Long. This is why they seldom win against Ma Long. To win against Ma Long you generally need to outpower and outspeed him while maintaining very good consistency, which...
  15. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

When Ma Long is looking so fresh and motivated like he is for this tournament, he is pretty hard to stop. Guy is just the most complete player with barely any weakness, knows how to play every single shot in the game (yes even BH-BH and BH chiquita with all its variations). LJK is just worse...
  16. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

XP BH is a bit Fang Bo like which imo handicaps him a bit way too much especially against modern BH players like LSD. He intentionally aims it a lot and there is a general lack of smoothness in the fingers/supination/wrist movement as he tries to 'fix' them too much instead of just letting it...
  17. Footwork..

There is actually a way to really disgust the opponent. So it is super easy when going against the spin to produce heavy af sideunderspin (this is why ppl love going against the spin to push) especially if you have good spinny inverted rubber. The incoming spin bites on the rubber and you have...
  18. China Smash 2024, Beijing, 9/26-10/6

Watched the XP vs Truls match and it was super exciting. I'm surprised that Truls actually lost, but anyone on the CNT is always a threat regardless. I really like Truls' serve/receive game, his BH variation and the big FH loopkill. It really looks increasingly Ma Long like. Xiang Peng I feel...
  19. Footwork..

We will have to agree to disagree here then. I think there is a major loss of control when trying to loop going against the spin, especially against opponents with spin production as good or similar to me. I pretty much never to inside out loops against reverse spin, way too hard to control...
  20. Footwork..

Yeah but against real high quality sidespin, brushing the right side of the ball will lead to a lot of mistakes and loss of control. Even when pivoting it is way easier to go with the spin and brush the left or at the back. For me I usually dont like going completely on the left, but the back of...
