  1. Help needed: How to deal with soft / no spin / minimal spin short ball

I think you should check out Yinhe Big Dipper 38 or 39 deg. It's an "almost" hybrid, but more like Chinese rubbers. Boost it a bit, and it's very nice. It will help you keep your returns shorter, and offers superb spin properties. It's also quite cheap, so why not try it out?
  2. Help needed: How to deal with soft / no spin / minimal spin short ball

When they serve/return short, be sure to return the ball really quickly and keep it short a couple of returns, until you get them unbalanced, and out of pace, then push a little longer into the body, or towards a corner if it works better with certain players. Then you'll certainly get some...
  3. HELP: set up for a 15 year old girl

How long has she played table tennis? I assume that she has played for 3-5 years and needs to work on the technique and footwork? If this is the case I wouldn't recommend Tenergy, Dignics or Rozena. To learn the strokes you'll need a more controllable blade and rubbers that are more linear than...
  4. Any experience with these two rubbers??

Oh. That was a while ago now, But Apollo 5 felt really hard and fast with a low throw and good spin. BD has a higher arc and softer feel. Apollo 5 was also easier to play more flat, hard hits as well. To me they are quite unlike eachother for both being Chinese rubbers. I had the 36deg version...
  5. Hurricane 3 neo - some like it for BH some don't - why is this?

Well. The H3N 37º is much softer. I recall comparing BD 38º to H3N 39º/40º, and compared to them, it's softer and slower. That's why I thought that BD 38º could be a good substitute for H3N 37º.
  6. Does booster effect ever go away completely?

Get yourself four exactly the same setups. Treat three of them with booster in the same way and assemble them in the same way. You start with one setup, and put it away. A month later you do the same to the second one, and after another month do the third setup. Compare these to the non-boosted...
  7. Hurricane 3 neo - some like it for BH some don't - why is this?

Yinhe Big Dipper 38º works good for me.
  8. Update equipment?

Yep. Rakza 7 is a do-it-all rubber, or try Chinese rubbers like Yinhe Big Dipper, DHS Hurricane 3 NEO or 729 Battle Max Pro on FH if you work really hard, brush a lot, and put a Rakza 7 on the BH.
  9. What is the difference between all the versions of Sanwei Target?

I had a rough time with Target National. It felt too hard, stiff and heavy for me to generate any spin like H3N or similar rubbers. Target 90 is a semi tacky 39deg sponge rubber, more controllable and not that fast or very spinny. Easier to play with than H3N. Target Europe 40+ and the FX...
  10. What table tennis rubbers & blade do you use?

Check out Pimplepark EPOS, Yinhe Big Dipper or 729 Presto MAX Spin for BH
  11. Returned to TT. Advice on Stiga please

    Great. Looks really nice :)
  12. New Sanwei rubber - first look

I have tried all three versions 37, 38 & 39. I felt that the 39 was quite fast, and the 37 & 38 wasn't so different to each other. I think you could try the 37 without having problems to adjust, but to be sure, just keep your 38 if you really like it. :)
  13. Who has tried Loki N80?

Thank you. Is it a Prius? :) I've played a lot with H3N, BD and Skyline TG2 NEO on exactly the same blade. For a while the TG2N suited me better than H3N because it was a tiny bit slower and had similar spin potential. When playing on harder floors, like wood my loops tended to go long with the...
  14. Who has tried Loki N80?

Well. I think it very much depend on how you hit you topspin loops, and how your blade works with the rubber, angles, force etc. I believe that there are millions of different values of parameters to be calculated, depending on how exactly a certain blade combined with a certain rubber/sponge is...
  15. Who has tried Loki N80?

To me the T3 was a stiffer, faster, quite grippy rubber that didn't fit my forehand. I couldn't generate very high spin in my loops, but for backhand, fast blocking game it would work nicely. The N80 and GTX isn't the same at all. The N80 is more like H3N and Big Dipper while GTX is a bouncier...
  16. Who has tried Loki N80?

Well. It's so individual between players, so I think you have to buy one and try for yourself to really be sure.
  17. Who has tried Loki N80?

No sorry, I'm not that advanced, but I'm quite average, playing in a mid-division series in Sweden. The biggest question, I think, is how you use the rubber and on what kind of blade you have glued it. I can say that i don't usually do "average" shots. Most players, even using long pips, usually...
  18. Who has tried Loki N80?

YES, I tried the Loki N 80 and they are................................ quite nice. Somewhere in between H3N 39deg and Big Dipper 38deg. :)
  19. Who has tried Loki N80?

Perhaps. I have to play a bit more with it to see if it breaks in, and comes alive....
  20. Who has tried Loki N80?

    Yes, similar.
