  1. Who has tried Loki N80?

I felt that the Battle Max was a bit harder, lower throw, tackier and a bit harder to generate spin on brush strokes...
  2. Who has tried Loki N80?

Hi. I've answered Kuba Hajtos reply and linked a small video of Battle Max Pro picking up a ball in my basement. It's not totally untacky ;)
  3. Who has tried Loki N80?

As you have used Moon Pro Medium, I think you should go for Big Dipper 38 or 39 deg. They are closer to Moon Pro medium.
  4. Who has tried Loki N80?

Nope. I thought so because of the Battle top sheet, but they are allowed to treat it differently under the terms of ITTF. That's what they told me anyway. :) This is a Battle Max 41 deg picking up my ball :) https://fb.watch/cxhFBeo3LO/
  5. Who has tried Loki N80?

I tried the Moon Pro Medium once and found it very slow compared to the Hard version. Two very different sponges is what I discovered. The Medium didn't dome at all, but the Hard domed and felt so much more lively. I've recently tried Battle Max Pro 41deg, and it's quite comparable to H3N...
  6. Who has tried Loki N80?

But the Prius is faster, right......? Just kidding :) This is such an individual sport. No one plays in the same way as another, but I almost always brush the ball, and I like to play with harder sponges like the 41 deg, so of course, the harder I brush, the more I benefit from a harder sponge...
  7. Who has tried Loki N80?

Well :) When brush looping, quite hard, this is the feeling i get. H3N gives me better speed and it responds more direct to hard brush strokes than the BD which is a bit softer, even if it's bouncier. The bounciness of the BD isn't helping when brushing hard. It just don't respond as direct as...
  8. Can't topspin good with new rubber?

This could explain how it works in a way. With a harder Chinese rubber you get what you put in your strokes. With a tensor rubber like R42 you'll get more bounce than the power you put in your stroke. The main difference is that when you brush the ball hard with say R42, the sponge and top sheet...
  9. Who has tried Loki N80?

I have a little chart of my own, and H3N, 39deg is for me: Speed: 8.3/10 - Spin: 8.7/10 - Control: 7.5/10 LOKI N80 is: Speed: 8/10 - Spin: 8.3/10 - Control: 7.7/10 Big Dipper 38deg is: Speed: 7.7/10 - Spin: 8.5/10 - Control: 8.5/10 But of course, everything comes down to how you strike the ball. :)
  10. Can't topspin good with new rubber?

Now I use to boost both of them with two layers of Seamoon, but I feel that the N80 is near BD in spin properties, and N80 is a bit harder than the 38deg BD, more like the 39deg BD then. Anyway the N80 feels like more of a forehand rubber for me and BD is easier for my backhand because the ball...
  11. Can't topspin good with new rubber?

Yep. If H3 worked for you before, don't change to a totally different rubber type. If you're not totally happy with it? Think of what exactly you need to change and perhaps use a harder/softer sponge of the H3 for it to work with your game. The Andro Rasanter R42 is as far away from H3 as...
  12. Blade sealing/varnishing question

I use the water based TT Revolution No.3 sealer. 8-10 drops and then smooth it out with the attached sponges. This must be much better than a brush to get the layer(s) even.
  13. Blade sealing/varnishing question

Yep use a fine sanding paper from the bottom to the top and back along the fibres, and add a final very thin layer of varnish. And don't use turpentine with water based liquids, just add some water if it's too thick.
  14. Is BEO Store on AliExpress legit?

Yes it's ok. I have an order there now that I placed yesterday and have ordered 3-4 times before and all was genuine products. Some DHS blades, Yinhe and 729 rubbers mainly.
  15. H3 Change

If you play an aggressive game and hit really hard, brushing the ball, I say go for a 41deg sponge and perhaps put some Seamoon Booster on it. The harder sponge rewards a faster and hard-hitting game. :)
  16. Returned to TT. Advice on Stiga please

Check out https://revspin.net/ There's a lot of good info on blades and rubbers, and of course some bad ones as well :)
  17. Returned to TT. Advice on Stiga please

Nowadays there are so many blades and rubbers that are so much faster and bouncier than your old setup, so it's probably good to start somewhere near that combination to make the transition quite smooth. Take a look at a normal Allround 5-ply wood blade like Stiga Allround Classic, Sanwei...
  18. Soft spinny control rubbers

Try something less bouncy like 729 Presto MAX Spin, which is totally untacky or perhaps the Pimplepark Epos with a bit of tack. Both these work really fine in both the short game and when adding some power to the strokes, in topspin and flat hits. https://revspin.net/rubber/pimplepark-epos.html...
  19. Carbon blade for long pips

This one could be spot on? https://revspin.net/blade/pimplepark-murus.html
