  1. WTT Champions Japan 2025 - 7-11 Aug 2025

Hina Hayata... what a warrior! She's in the fight for LA2028.
  2. WTT Champions Japan 2025 - 7-11 Aug 2025

Lily's well timed FH counter stood out to me. It seemed to have quite a bit of extra zip on it from what I can remember before. I've seen her being coached by Daniel Gonzalez before.
  3. WTT Champions Macao 2025 - 9-14 Sep 2025

Hina Hayata is entered in the Players List so the entry deadline must have been before Honoka leapfrogged Hina in the rankings.
  4. WTT Feeder Spokane-2025

Sally Moyland had a real shot at beating Saki Shibata losing just 3-2,11-8 in R16. And Saki is a legit contender to take the title. Amy Wang beat Reina Aso of Japan 3-1, but she lost to Kaho Akae also of Japan 3-1. Sally really has a complete game and will just keep getting better with...
  5. Nagasaki: "I've never liked table tennis that much to begin with..." (#1169)

Yes, I get the whole overall skill argument, but at the same time this could be an opportunity to improve Tomo's mental toughness and end game tactics. It is his prerogative to complain about it, but I find it rings hollow after just having played one match, the season opener. Add to it the fact...
  6. Nagasaki: "I've never liked table tennis that much to begin with..." (#1169)

Tomo's comment that the rules are unfavorable to only the world best players I cannot agree with. It's not like his opponents get a handicap. Both players start at 0-0 and first to 11 both for time constraints and entertainment value. Other leagues do similar things. MLTT calls this the...
  7. WTT Contender Almaty 2025 Sep 2-7

Good chance we get a 2024 WTT Finals Fukuoka WD rematch: Sato/Hashimoto vs. Odo/Yokoi !
  8. Nagasaki: "I've never liked table tennis that much to begin with..." (#1169)

He's calling for standard ITTF/WTT playing system. I don't know. He's been in T-League for a number of years now and is well aware of the playing format. A number of other leagues do things like 1st to 11 wins (Golden Point in MLTT) both for time limiting and entertainment purposes. [Edit]...
  9. WTT Champions Japan 2025 - 7-11 Aug 2025

Draws are out. Potential Miwa vs. Hina in 2nd round. Satsuki has the best draw to get to the QF. Potential SYS vs. Hashimoto in 2nd round. In MS, LSD vs. LYJ in 1st round. Tomo has a relatively easy path to SF.
  10. Nagasaki: "I've never liked table tennis that much to begin with..." (#1169)

Zhu Yuling and CIC to join T-League. Both will be joining Abyell... same team as Miwa, Nagasaki, Hirano. So Abyell loses Kihara but gains ZYL and CIC. This pretty much makes last season's T-League Champions, Abyell, practically unbeatable.
  11. 2026 WTT Series Calendar

I think it was just a scheduling issue. There was a WTT Women's Finals in Dec '23 and WTT Men's Final in Jan '24 (for the 2023 calendar year). There was a WTT Finals (both men and women at Fukuoka) for the year 2024 in Nov '24. This year will also be a single WTT Final in Hong Kong Dec '25.
  12. 2026 WTT Series Calendar

Right, I mentioned the mandatory part as not everyone knows what's mandatory and what's not. When you say there are 25+ tournaments, I think it's fair to say most are not mandatory. There are definitely things for WTT to improve upon such as camera quality, camera angle, TTR, etc. But for the...
  13. 2026 WTT Series Calendar

Only Grand Smashes, WTT Champions, and WTT Finals have mandatory participation via automatic entry and only if they qualify for those events and the exact same number of these high level events as 2025. Also, players are allowed 2 annual exemptions for WTT Champions events which I think is a...
  14. Nagasaki: "I've never liked table tennis that much to begin with..." (#1169)

Hina playing well in her T-League season debut. Great to see especially after Contender Lagos. She won 3-0 (3,8,5) over Miyuu Kihara who made her debut with her new team.
  15. WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025 7/30-8/3

    The Champions
  16. WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025 7/30-8/3

Back to back championships for Miwa. She had strong challenges from both Honoka and Miyu. Honoka and Miyu I think are #1 and #2 respectively in terms of biggest improvement in 2025. No shame in losing to Japan's best player.
  17. WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025 7/30-8/3

I hope so. BTW, MD is short for Men's Doubles. XD is short for Mixed Doubles.
  18. WTT Star Contender Foz do Iguaçu 2025 7/30-8/3
