  1. Battle of the best FH rubbers

I recently discovered a friend's solution to increase rubber tackiness and applied it to my 1+yr old D05s and the results were just amazing. I think my spin levels increased by 30% just from this. D05 already has huge spin due to the sponge but this surface treatment boosted it even further that...
  2. Advice for my terrible receive

The server is really testing your footwork in this clip and you have been found wanting. I do the same thing too - i serve a lot of wide angles interspersed with long fast serves. One thing is that you lunge way too slow and also the range is also way too short. You should be able to lunge at...
  3. Does anybody else mentally fall apart against pure pushers or weird styles?

There is a 3rd option, just lift the underspin ball with open racket angle with a fake loop aftermotion - make sure to alternate between your real loop and the 'fake' opening loop for max effect. Almost all the LP players I played with hate this shot immensely, and you will see them randomly...
  4. Table Tennis Crisis

Yep exactly. This is also why footwork, recovery and anticipation is probably one of the most important skills because you can only reliably (ie consistently) hit big shots if you are well in position and in time to hit it. If you're not in great position or were late to the ball it is better...
  5. MLTT Has Implemented the Ability to Challenge an Umpire Call w/ Instant Replay

Agree, there should absolutely be a challenge system with Hawkeye implemented.
  6. Battle of the best FH rubbers

Wow lots of H3 BS users in the thread too!
  7. Pre- serve self cheering

Nah it doesnt, it comes from ancient Mongol language intended to cast a curse on the opponent.

Yeah, he really relies way too much on his massive FH 3rd ball loopkill which is probably the best on the tour at the moment aside from Ma Long. But yeah when it is blocked back he gets into all sorts of trouble. Tbh if he had a super spinny and short FH loop with the exact same backswing as his...
  9. Battle of the best FH rubbers

So, from what I see others using so far, the following appears to be the clear winners for FH rubbers... Boosted Hurricane 3 Blue Sponge Boosted Hurricane 3 Orange Sponge D09c T05 hard D05 K3 Fastarc G1 Dragon Grip Which did you choose and why?
  10. Table Tennis Crisis

Yepppp sure, but there is nothing sweeter than nailing an outrageous FH pivot loopkill or even better, a C-shaped chiquita loopkill to their wide FH or a no-look flick, and then having the opponent glare at you xD. Sometimes it is not about winning, but sending a message lol. But I agree that...
  11. Why Table Tennis is such a pure, unique 1-of-1 sport

First time i have seen someone say Ma Long is 'not fast' lmao. Dude is one of the fastest players on the tour - you cannot sustain a FH oriented game in today's TT without tremendous speed. Height is not the only physical attribute for sportsmen unless it's basketball...

For Lin Shidong, the CNT coaching team did a really excellent job in getting him to learn more gears and tone down his power slightly to achieve more consistency. It was the same successful path they did for ZJK who also similarly showed very explosive power in shotmaking but lacked consistency...

I'm not sure if Harimoto could ever scale this wall though - there literally is no one who can play like SYS and Wang Manyu on the Japanese national team, not sure if they can imitate the very subtle spin/placement variations and train Miwa to be able to spot and correctly read and respond to...
  14. WTT Champions Macao 2024, 9/9-15

Lin Shidong has the same Fan Zhendong style topspin rally supremacy that very few players are able to match. Going forward, WCQ might have a huge problem on his hands as he is clearly outclassed in the topspin rally battle against both these players and has to rely increasingly on tricks and...
  15. WTT Champions Macao 2024, 9/9-15

SYS has a really subtle difference between her BH dead and topspin block/counter which looks almost the same - this caused some huge issues for Miwa who was just making 1001 unforced errors due to this variation. I need to learn some of this magic. I feel like my variation is there but it is...
  16. Good Forehand Rubbers instead of Tenergy 05?

If you're prepared to really read spin and adjust to every single shot D05 is actually quite the killer with very high speed and spin which can really overwhelm opponent's defences. It's just you have to work extra hard on serve receive, pushes, etc... which is imo also quite rewarding because...
  17. WTT Champions Macao 2024, 9/9-15

Yes she has - she has incredibly spinny loops on both wings that most opponents fear. Also the trademark Harimoto BH down the line is even better than her brother's because she often does it directly against pushes which makes it a lot more deadly. It is a shot that is rarely done in the women's...
  18. WTT Champions Macao 2024, 9/9-15

Imo, she doesnt play like a robot. She has all 4 types of serve (pendulum, reverse pendulum, hook, heavy under/nospin) serves which she serves from multiple positions (middle, pivot), which is way more variation than her brother who always serves from pivot position and doesnt do hook or reverse...
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Played against an interesting player. Guy had tremendous spin on FH and BH but I had too much variation on the serve/receive so I was usually dominating serve/receive. But he then stopped serving too many varieties of spin and simply served very heavy pendulum sideunder to my really short FH...
  20. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes, if you want to play aggressive BH game, you cant have a big FH. There is simply no time to introduce it when you are in BH position. Pretty much the entire backswing has to be almost body only. But apparently this is the most advanced game style now.
