  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Haven't played in months. Withdrawal symptoms started settling in. Luckily my partner is coming back for the Christmas, and I have time as well, so we will go and hit up the usual venue for some training. Will probably get some footage too. My back hasn't completely healed and I still get...
  2. Do you need ‘perfect’ technique to be good at table tennis?

Yes, absolutely. If you don't hit the ball with 100% perfect textbook technique with the precision of a Japanese engineered, German built machine, then you might as well quit the sport forever.
  3. My table tennis drawings :)

All from imagination, except the hand. Fairly complex perspective? No problem. A hand? Impossible. Originally this was up-side down, like a view from a rafter, but it didn't make any sense no matter how I looked at it, so I flipped it, so that's why Peco's looking at a drone or...
  4. My table tennis drawings :)

I'm going to revive this thread with a bad warmup drawing, because I'm that kind of guy. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) @YuJuYen pls post more
  5. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

@NextLevel Doesn't a timeout also let your OPPONENT gather themselves for the next points?
  6. Is this blade broken?

Only if it comes back with new Tenergies on both sides. ;)
  7. Is this blade broken?

Yikes, I didn't know my blade is completely unplayable, because it's much worse than this.
  8. Serve for a lefty

I guess I should mention that you should be ready to serve anything and not just stick to a rule-book. At some point you're gonna play someone who has no definitive weakness, and it's just compromise. Of course, if one thing works, and keeps working, just keep doing it.
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

What if you just like playing with slow, tacky rubber and don't give a damn about performance?
  10. Usage of Finger by a memebr on MyTT Forum

Playing penhold for fun and blocking my partner's loop with TPB has taught me that finger pressure at impact REALLY matters. I think it's easier to figure out with TPB because the fingers are so involved.
  11. Usage of Finger by a memebr on MyTT Forum

I found out at some point that adjusting the index finger to be more to the side and deeper on the rubber resulted in a more consistent pendulum serve.
  12. Building The Hammer

You can however replace the material with something that has a bit more whallop. ;)
  13. More power needed in my forehand

@Der_Echte I wasn't serious about ttmonster's reading comprehension skills. I knew what he was talking about. I'm just making sure that I'm not completely misunderstood. In no way am I trying to discourage Maurice or put him down. It's really great to see such progress. @Jabugo Arm first and...
  14. A For Sale-For Trade scammer has been hitting sites all over Europe.

@ttmonster I didn't even check the link. My bad. What I meant with con-man is someone who tricks you and takes your money from you somehow. This guy sounds a lot like that.
  15. Do counter and drive hits have spin?

Easy answer to this question: Find someone who can counterhit and just block it! It's really not worth going into all the technical stuff and even reading the spin IMO. I think any proper spin shot will hugely overpower the spin that is on this kind of stroke. So just hit the ball. I used to...
  16. Do counter and drive hits have spin?

If it's hit 100% perfectly on the back of the ball, it "shouldn't" have spin. I'm not sure how much the aero from the ball dropping can influence the spin, so technically a no-spin ball might turn into a very light spin ball. That is just theoretical BS though so just ignore it. :p Think about...

  18. A For Sale-For Trade scammer has been hitting sites all over Europe.

@gtardy80 DO NOT buy from that man. He will steal your money. This thread is about a scammer, a con-man, a crook, a bad guy etc.
  19. More power needed in my forehand

So where is the issue? Do you think he will perfectly ingrain the stroke with little effort? Well, maybe. It's not impossible...
  20. More power needed in my forehand

@ttmonster You need to work on your reading comprehension, because I'm supporting Maurice.
