  1. Why it is hard for umpires to call hidden serves

But only like 0.3% of all table tennis matches have more than one umpire. It is impossible for a single umpire to see the ball when the most common way of serving in table tennis is done with the back against the umpire. Also, I do not think that we really want a sort of "whining culture"...
  2. Why it is hard for umpires to call hidden serves

The rules should be changed. Either allow it or do something like "the whole body needs to be behind the ball during the serve"
  3. DHS Goldarc 9 is now available

The Hurricane 9 (green I think) has the 80-sponge with non tacky topsheet and seems to get really shitty reviews... The 8-80 is a very good rubber.
  4. Picked up my paddle after 12 years… and now there’s dignics!?

Good choice. Cheaper and Foxbox will get the feel of relatively modern rubber, Quality-wise the same as Butterflies. Regarding the Rozenas and Glayzers... I'll go against the others here and state that Glayzer is fine. Nothing special but a standard middle of the road modern, hard rubber. Same...
  5. NEW Gold Arc 9

DHS 80 sponge with ESN topsheet?
  6. Using D05 for a week, it too fast and hard to control... how to use it ?

I've always (or at least since its introduction...) that Dignics 05 was considered a safer and easier to use rubber than for instance T05? I'm sure I've read threads and reviews praising its play out of position, its ease of use in the short game although a bit slower than previous generation of...
  7. Got a racket from Anders Lind

You might be right. Chemicals was just an assumption. My bad. But their sponges normally dies within 2-3 months. The rubbers mentioned in the first post behaves as expected and (probably)not due to extra treatment.
  8. Got a racket from Anders Lind

2-3 months is normal ESN factory boosting. And more than one layer of glue is either shitty glue or superstition! ;)
  9. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

Raising hand. 😉 Again. It is about what we enjoy in the sport. Most of the time I'd rather lose a close fun game than win a boring one. All this "all you have to do is practice against LP"-talk.... That is exactly what we NOT want to do. Because it is not as fun game to play. And also - a...
  10. Dhs H301 vs Butterfly innerforce alc blades

A Harimoto won't change anything for you. The difference is way too small. The handles are very different though. (I could not get on with the (FL) DHS-handle at all.) An OALC might be another story.
  11. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

It's got nothing, or at least very little, to do with winning or losing. Playing against long pips is just not a joyful sport. Maybe LP shouldn't be banned totally but it would be nice with competitions with a "non-LP"-event/class.
  12. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

It's just not fun. Playing LP is not the reason you go to training sessions and games.
  13. Upgrading my Nittaku Fastarc G1.

That would be the obvious "upgrade". Or perhaps Tenergy 19? Regarding the lifespan of ESN-rubbers - my experience is that the Fast Arc G1 is the odd one out and that, for some reason, the sponge don't die as fast and brutal as other ESN-rubbers with similar hardness. Maybe not as boosted from...
  14. Cybershape Carbon & Head Heavy Blades

But with Mark V it wouldn't be head heavy! :)
  15. Cybershape Carbon & Head Heavy Blades

Head heavy is better for pretty much all forehand attacking shots. Handle heavy better for short game and backhand.
  16. Provincial/National H8-80

I've had several H8-80, never any oxidation problems. But that is also, i guess, a thing with poor QC....
  17. Provincial/National H8-80

Might be worth the extra cost if the QC is better. 8-80 is great but the differences in weight between different rubbers is just to much.
  18. T05, what hardness?

Agree. I believe that the top sheet of the G1 is thicker and/or firmer.
  19. Need recommendation. Rubbers like dignics 05 but lighter

All ESN- and most Chinese alternatives will be significantly heavier. Low weight is a selling point for Butterfly rubbers.
