Table size to increase 01/01/2018?

Is this a joke? It was announced on April 1st (April 1st is traditionally a day of jokes in the US).

This is really going over the top as far as changes. Will the ITTF reimburse my club for the 5 (five) new tables that we just bought? We want to be reimbursed since they will no longer (in 2018) be qualified for tournaments.

What say you?

Don't worry. It was declared as an April fool prank somewhere on their website.

It's more comical that the player base has such little faith in the ITTF, that they thought this could actually be legit... lol
