return

  1. Return mentality

    I play table tennis for over half of my life now and I always had huge return problems. I think it is a mental thing since I am often very nervous during the first points and I do make some very good returns when I "feel it right" if you know what I mean. I already try to have the same rituals...
  2. Ideas for makeshift return board/spin "measurement" device

    Hey. If I don't have a person on hand to block my shot, I've tried to use the method of letting the ball hit a wall once it comes off the table and checking how much it rolls forward to measure topspin, but I've deemed it a bit unreliable. If the wall is irregular, or very rough or very smooth...

  6. Question about banana flick return of serve

    After watching all the backhand over-the-table banana flick returns at the worlds, it sure looks like they have been further developed. Many returns for outright winners. Not being anywhere near that level or even able to understand what goes on there, it looks like the incoming spin of the...

  9. My service return can't make it....

    I seem not able to return opponent's service well and this makes them easily attack me on the 3rd ball, and this make it worse as i'm a near table attacking player. Is there anyway i can i improve on my returns?? (Most of my return end up very very high, with very little go into the net).
  10. The best return of serve!

    Check out this video, the quality is a bit poor, but it's definitely worth a look. The last point was match point too!
  11. Return of Service by Pros

    I've been watching a lot of videos and one thing I've been noticing is that they have been returning services mostly with backhand loops even on the forehand side. Why is this? An example of this can be seen from the first few exchanges between Zhang Jike and Ma Long in the Slovenian Open of 2012
