That was way tighter than i expected. Thought Hayata would win comfortably considering how she handled Hu Limei (who i thought is a better defender than Hashimoto), much easier. Gotta give credit to Hashimoto though, well played.

Hayata won phase 1 undefeated so she has likely beaten all the players she will play again in phase 2. Will be interesting.

Hayata vs Hashimoto was a long match, Hashimoto did so well defending.

Liang JK vs Lin GY was much more exciting, great to see Liang's break through beating Lin

It was great to see JNT are expected to beat CNT B in ITTF tournament. It has taken 20 years of pouring resources and countless trial and error but glad that it's producing good results.

Not often you see CNT B team flop so badly like this.
Clearly the new ball + weaker B team caliber will be a big worry for the heads.
This is something Japanese has done right and the Chinese has not yet

btw I was surprised that European like Flore, Szocs, Platonov, Bobocica can fight one level vs low and middle rank CTTSL players. Moregard even beat Chinese from top20.

It would be interesting to see the match CTTSL middle team vs DTTBL top team.

Team B was playing trials, so yes Team C. Liu Shiwen the obvious exception.
