I know, but why split the streaming of ITTF events onto two channels.
Different but related organizations. I have made the analogy before that the ATP and WTA is to ITF what the WTT is to ITTF (limitations around prize money and true source of money in tennis vs TT notwithstanding). While all ATP events are ITF events, not all ITF events are ATP events. Similarly, while all WTT events are ITTF events, not all ITTF events are WTT events. And of course, players have greater influence and control of the ATP and WTA.

Mima ITO lost 2-2 on point avg to the Thai player...
Ito took her weird timeout again, this time after winning two points in a row from 2-6 down. Again it worked in her favour, she came back to win the next three points to make it 7-6 until Suthasini broke the momentum with her own timeout. Ito's playing her usual, can't rally for nuts and had more errors than usual so the result is not surprisingly, plus Suthasini was really prepared to counter all of Ito's now predictable patterns. But what I'm really curious about the logic behind this timeout...

On the last occasion against Jeon Ito supposedly took the timeout to prepare for receive but this time she returned to the table with her own serve.

you can't blame Hirano for playing to her level when they allow players who are clearly nowhere close to their world rankings to get world rankings based on continental results.
Agreed. Both player knew their place in the pecking order and especially at this level Table tennis is a "dog eats dog" sport.
No blame ! 😁

What do you think are the chances of Mima Ito being number one in her group?
Still pretty high, though Suthasini is more realistically closer to the #2 player than the #3 player in the group. A lot will depend on Sawettabut-Wang, if Amy wins a game or 2, Mima will be fine, Mima will only be under pressure with a 4-0 win by Suthasini as Mima should easily beat Amy, who struggles often when the opponent doesn't give her spin to counterspin.

Of course, this is all in my head...

Another weird umpire call for Zhang Mo v. Kim Nayeong (same group as Miwa who beat Zhang 3-1 yesterday).

Ball hits Kim's racket edge and flies out of court in 2-1 in games, 3-2 in points, clear point for Zhang.
But umpire calls a let for that point after players are done warming up with a new ball and they realise that the old ball was cracked.
Zhang and Lin Ye-lookalike(?) coach look pissed but let it go.

Update: Zhang loses her way for the rest of the game but comes back from 5-9 to win 12-10. Didn't think she had it in her.

AJH 2:2 WCQ, 38:39

WCQ's dream is in danger already after the first match.
It's funny how we were all saying in the Dusseldorf feeder thread that, due to his loss to Jha, AJH was a flash in the pan and Cho Daesong would've handled him if in good condition.

Then he goes out to tie WCQ just a couple of days later. This sport is hard to predict. BTW, does this mean Jha is on WCQ's level? :p

Hi Guys, can someone explain me why we have some equal matches:
Example:
Lin Gaoyuan vs Tomislav PUCAR 2-2
WANG Chuqin vs AN Jaehyun 2-2

Thank you
Each match has 4 games, regardless of the winning/losing games. So it can be a tie, but the total point won/lost matter at the end. That is why Hirano went all out to win 25 points

Or better Jha is better than WCQ, who is tied with AJH?:)
