Why are Harimoto’s heavy backspin and no spin serves so high sometimes? Is that supposed to be deception or is it just a mistake?

Both. Sometimes it is to bait the opponent into underestimating how much backspin is on the bal and to keep it closer to the netl, and but that has the side effect of looking bad when thr opponent reads thr backspin on the ball and attacks it or the ball drifts long and then it is kist easier to attack.

The French team's outfits are sponsored by Victas. Same with the Japanese male team. That's why you don't see Harimoto in a Butterfly outfit. Why Gauzy was wearing his andro stuff when he played doubles with Lebrun earlier I can't tell you. I don't know if there are sponsor mandates or if it's just up to players.

Does Hari-boy have a chance? He couldn't figure out how to get Togami to miss on his serve but once over many tries from 10-5 up. This is the problem with playing teammates who know you too well. They are familiar with your tricks so no easy points on serve and serve return.

Reading the youtube live chat while watching the Hayata vs Hirano match unfolded has convinced me that the majority have little idea what they're talking about. I think only 1 person insisted that Hirano could match Hayata and should not be underestimated at the start of G1. Even more laughable is that one person even said Harimoto was already above Hirano, totally ignoring what just happened at WTT CT Taiyuan 2024.

Togami was braver at the end. He went all out after being behind. To be fair, this was Harimoto's 3rd match of the day.

There were some pushes from Togami that Harimoto could have gone for when he was up 8-4, but he didn't and Togami always went on the attack first putting him at a disadvantage. But that serve and 3rd ball attack from Togami at 10-10 was beautiful.
