Good try by Hayata. However, the fact that she saved these tactics for WS rather than WT undeniably confirms that she has forgone her team spirit in the pursuit of individual honor way more than Ito has. Poor Harimoto for giving her all in WT F that was a lost cause from the get-go. Hirano and Hashimoto could've done much more for the team.

The 20th Asian Games have been beset by problems that jarred with the hosting credentials of a country that staged the Olympics five years ago.
Satoshi Murate, Secretary-General of the local organising committee, said a late influx of around 2,000 additional athletes and officials had stretched resources.
"There have been mistakes in accommodation and transport, for various reasons," Murate said.
"Whatever ⁠the cause, AINAGOC is responsible for providing the service, and I frankly apologise for the mistakes.

(While they could technically do it now, a title is needed to cement their status as the Olympic MD pair. The JTTA simply couldn't deny an Asian Games-winning duo a spot at the LA Olympics)
Furthermore, selecting Hiroto would offer flexibility in the XT and individual event lineups, saving Matsushima’s stamina. Playing MD first would also help Harimoto find his rhythm, making him less likely to suffer a shock upset in the early rounds of the MS. Even if he doesn't medal in singles, partnering with World Champion Hiroto in doubles offers a fantastic chance to win a medal
For the JTTA XT, Hiroto is the true gem who energizes the whole squad, whereas Togami is just a royal deadweight who ruins the team, drags down every teammate, and distorts the lineup. If he plays, Matsushima has to juggle four events, Harimoto is stuck with only singles, and Hiroto is forced into a right/right pairing. It just screws everyone over)

To score points against Tomo, you need to play backhand (and possibly another backhand, then another backhand) > forehand (and possibly another forehand). For the very simple reason that Tomo is backhand-oriented and has a slower reaction time when switching from his backhand to his forehand. For players with Noshad’s abilities, this is a golden opportunity to score.

That's all on Japan. Noshad is likely the best server in the world, they disrespected him by not saving on getting TTR and paid the price.

Not only that, but Noshad is also left-handed, and that almost always gives you an edge, if only psychologically.

The turning point came down to the lefties. Besides getting jammed by long serves, HYZ kept looping the ball into the net (due to Nittaku ball and San-Ei table not as bouncy) and then starting around G4 (after WH's TO?) managed to adjust by chop-blocking it back instead and LSD followed suit and the pair never looked back. As former HKG player Ng Wing Nam pointed out, Shinozuka needed to offload the pressure on Harimoto but ultimately failed.
