CXT with the slick tactics throwing in the slow ultra spinny balls and really breaking Hayata's rhythm. Feels like most points she got in 4th and 5th were mishits and outright misses from Hayata unable to adjust to the different pace.

Having to spend her timeout well ahead in the 2nd game to close that one out probably was a crucial issue.

That said, I think Hayata has an issue of keeping up her intensity throughout an entire match.

Nah, half those shots Hayata hit would have killed any player not on the CNT. It was really amazing to see Hayata under pressure in rallies where she was attacking. She needs to experience that on a regular basis but I am confident that thr Chinese will never let Hayata anywhere close to the Superleague. She has much more to gain from it than theyy do.

Question for someone who watches Sora more than I do - why does he seem to just completely fall apart in so many matches? 11-3 11-1 in games 2 and 3 to LYJ

He's somewhat alike Koki Niwa, the type of players that play based on inspiration. They are unstable but when the 'wave' hits they make outstanding play. Sora just can't find a way against players that have a solid technique and clear tactics

He's been like that since his childhood. Some sort of personality defect from the peer pressure of being born to a table tennis family. 5ch users hate him for exactly that kind of behavior, consistently producing poor results yet enjoying blatant favoritism.

With these many CNT players that might likely go through the group stages, I think the finals would be pretty boring.

I feel maybe WTTC and world cup still need to implement the no more than 2 players from a nation rule to get more excitement. Just play more group stage matches if needed.

Exciting groups, exciting knock-outs, and presumably exciting all-China finals. What more can you ask?

ATTU (with China in charge) puts WTT to shame.

JWJ was catching up to LJK from 1-5 in the rubber set when a fan (or fans?) flashed a phone camera, disrupting JWJ's momentum, which makes me believe the fan/s was intentionally trying to distract JWJ.

The officials and home fans didn't take it seriously, as if they were supporting the action.
