they come with all this lecturing of the correct technique and we are superior because we are so many and the hurricane III and the carbon racket and bla bla bla.
this unknown girl comes running from the mountains of germany...... she barely carries a supermarket racket and her deutsch pride yet she beats one of the best chinese like it was nothing.
what a disgrace.

Chinese train in a very structured manner using very structured equipment - as you have noted H3 FH + ALC.

Now frictionless anti at the table is the ultimate disruptor to this type of training, it tests things like rhythm/reversal recognition and playing “off platform”.

Though due to their resources they will do what they have always done and train their way out of it, either training clones (they already have an excellent male penholder who has been on Fang Bo’s channel) or getting in their ex-players from when there were more world class females from China using this style - think the Ni Xialian and Jian Fang Lay generation.

For those CNT too focused on optimising their game against the dominant double inverted style, in the off chance they are drawn against anti/Ox LP, it will be similar to cramming and memorising for an exam but forgetting 90% of the content once it’s all over.

There might be those rare instances they just fail the exam, so I wouldn’t think it’s a disgrace when putting in this way.

It's said CXT strained her back in the first round (R64) against DHK and it was pretty obvious in the R32 match against Pavade.

The interview is behind a paywall so will have to make do with this self-media article...
瑞典大满贯!奥运亚军0:3惨败,国乒女单9连胜,陈幸同陈熠大爆发
https://www.163.com/dy/article/K79EOLM50549M8AJ.html

https://www.dotdotnews.com/s/202502/19/AP67b58445e4b02b3306efa31d.html

while the intention of this thread probably will never get taken serious, ZFT has mentioned something very important.

From what I know,
In terms of Anti, China has no high level sparring partner
for LP chopblockers, other than He Zhuojia, they make use of a couple of provincial mens penhold players

antispin is like playing with a supermarket racket.
the chinese should make a little smile, bow and then proceed to beat this german girl 11-1 11-2 11-1
anything other than that is totally unacceptable.

LMAO. You guys made my day, I'm glad that I chose this thread for my morning coffee routine

On a more serious note, I looked up more of Winter's games after witnessing this one, her athleticism is insanely satisfying to watch. She doesn't use the anti as a gimmick. With all due respect to the LUX pro player, sometimes her monster forehand seems more powerful than Luka's.

I think this is a valid discussion no matter the trolling intention of the OP’s post.

These kinds of results show that matchups still matter, even when there’s a gap in overall maximum level.

With frictionless anti there are limits, but in the right scenario it can turn into a conundrum (is this the right word?), especially if the opponent is relying on heavy spin to control the game which is one of the primary characteristics of Hurricane 3.

I believe CXT has the ability, talent and training to be able to win this 8,9 times out of 10, but on this occasion Sabine’s style forced her into positions where her strengths didn’t count as much and were in effect “countered”.

Once that doubt set in, the rallies were different, and the anti reversal starts multiplying the pressure and levelling the playing field along with Sabine’s undoubted attacking quality with her inverted side.

I’ve lost to players where the player themself said I should’ve won, but my own technical or mental capabilities were found wanting. I took it onboard and hopefully I can do better next time I face them.

Which I feel is the beauty of competitive sport, there’s always a chance the underdog can flip things around if the conditions line up.

its also important to note, Sabine's forehand is extremely strong and her "UFO" shot will just get better and better.
She only moved over in Dec, and there has been a lot of success.

I think the core difference is, she is having a lot of fun and there is no pressure what so ever.

Oh Don 🙄
Who is they? Is that CXTs preferred pronoun these days? I didn't think they did that nonsense in China....
Anyway you're the only one in here lecturing like you're superior about H3 and what-not.
I don't remember CXT saying she would beat anyone with Anti or pips because it was the wrong way to play the game (tho I haven't seen all her interviews either so maybe she did...)
But anti is not some useless supermarket racket. She has her own blade and has inverted attacking on the other side and has the skills of a consistently ranked Top 50 TT player.
If Anders Lind can beat people with a phone I reckon Winter could beat your (allegedly) former pro ass with any $2 heap of crap she could get her hands on 😂

And if she unknown to you then it's just your own ignorance. She is a two times German national singles champion, won the singles title at the 2013 ITTF World Belarus Open.
She won bronze singles at the 2017 Europe Top-16 and the 2022 European Table Tennis Championships and is also a two-time doubles champion at the European Championships.
Isn't there anything more worthwhile for you to rant about?

Combination style is harder to deal with than imagined if one's not used to playing it. Check out how double-inverted Winter used to play against that style.

However, Winter's win rate hasn't improved all that much in 2025, despite her anti doing her a huge favor.

Winter's win rate
2025 - 63%, 19/30 (as of Europe Smash 2025)
2024 - 56%, 14/25
2023 - 61%, 22/36 (excluding XTWC 2023)
2022 - 50%, 9/18
2021 - 68%, 17/25 (Start of WTT)
2020 - 66%, 2/3
2019 - 53%, 8/15
2018 - 51%, 17/33 (Start of new WR system)
2017 - 46%, 7/15
2016 - 62%, 18/29
2015 - 56%, 17/30
2014 - 66%, 18/27
2013 - 74%, 20/27
2012 - 50%, 29/57
2011 - 61%, 24/39
2010 - 69%, 57/82
2009 - 67%, 42/62
2008 - 60%, 14/23

@the-don ,

Nice trolling. Marvelous and wonderful trolling.
somebody allege The-Don as a person who is or had played TT professionally.

To see him make such statement in this thread, I would make assumption that:

1. He does not play professionally TT.
2. If he does; then he is purely trolling.

I choose to be diplomatic and assume it is scenario No. 2.
