Thank you Suga D for the information as it is a great help. I will follow your advice on cleaning off the factory dust. I was in Frankfurt 1983-1984 and I miss those days of being able to practice my tischtennis game at one of the local clubs. There were so many good players from novice to Bundesliga and my game really improved. I miss the nightlife as well. Thanks again for the information.
That's a nice coincidence. I stay about 20 minutes from Frankfurt and started playing TT around 1983/1984.
May I ask at which club you have played?
I totally agree, this area has many good players on all kind of levels.
I also still love the nightlife here, but i always thought it must be rather small for someone from the states. Well thanks for your acknowledgement.

One of my best friends moved from Frankfurt first to Pasadena and now is since a couple of years in Houston. He used to play quite good, but doesn't have a lot of time to play nowadays, but whenever you're in the Houston area and he has time, i'm sure he'd be happy to have someone to play with. He used to play at a club (i think it's the Houston TT Club) but lately he mostly plays at the chinese community center.
But there's another member on this forum, who is also from Houston, and is also moderator on another forum and is always very helpful.
He might be able to help you find a club in your area.
@Baal: i hope you read this.
Suga D you use Spin Art. How does it compare to 05
Hey Raj, it's a little off-topic, but if Gene doesn't mind i can say a word or two.
Those are two completely different rubbers.
The Spin Art plays a bit like a hybrid chinese/japanese (a bit like a few JUIC Rubbers used to feel, that use the Globe999 topsheet on a japanese sponge), and it uses also the springe sponge (like T05), but it doesn't feel 'springy' at all, due to the semi-tacky topsheet, which is absolutely non-bouncy.
But the beautiful (spring-)sponge allows you to keep up the pace in mid-distance loop-to-loop rallies.
As Gene already mentioned, you can find my review here on the forum.
Raja he has a review of the Spin art posted. It is good info. Search "Spin Art"
Thanks again for the kind words.

Nice to get this appreciation.
Hope you can get all the Info you're looking for.
I think there are two or three forum members who also use (or have used) an Amicus robot.
But I find it's quite expensive for privat use, but on the other hand there's a german phrase that says:
He who buys cheap, often buys twice. Meaning if you save on spendings (and many times also on quality) you most of the times have to buy a new one after a short while, 'cause 'it' (whatever 'it' is) already broke.
And that's exactly what I like about the Amicus. You can have fun with it for a good amount of time, since you can use it for easy drills as well as for more complicated ones. And another thing, you can program up to six different 'types' of balls, starting from a serve or a heavy side-/topspin ball and you can simulate almost a 'real rally, 'cause not very many rallies nowadays are much longer than 6 balls, besides 6 programmed robot balls plus 6 answering balls of you would actually add up to a 12 Ball rally. (Pls someone correct me if I'm wrong)
So all in all I find the Amicus is totally worth its price.
But maybe someone can say something about the other two robots you've mentioned. That would be interesting to me as well.
