What is it you don't like about DHS ???
- It's more expensive than other Chinese brands because the CNT uses it.
- A lot of people think Hurricane 3 is far superior than anything else, which I disagree with. H3 could be the best rubber ever for Ma Long etc., but i don't believe it is the best rubber for everyone.
- DHS is a "lazy" big brand in my eyes. They don't really develop breakthrough products (OK I know there is H8 but it is not a true breakthrough, like Dignics to Tenergy). They don't seem to bother with developing a new sponge that is less booster reliant (or they have not been successful at that). Butterfly is better in this regard IMO; whilst I still think their products are overpriced, at least they have been the leader in new technologies with Tenergies, Dignics, and ALC/ZLC etc.
- I don't like their marketing gimmicks, with "Provincial", "National", and all sorts of 968 blades. I would not be happy if I bought a Hurricane Long 5 blade and then find out it is not what Ma Long actually uses (ok, this is not a DHS-only problem). If I remember correctly, they only started selling provincial and national versions officially in mid-2010s. I think they should just sell 968 blades officially and be honest about it; this would help tackling the counterfeits.
- They don't have a good reputation regarding QC either, which doesn't help.

I think you can use Hurricane 8-80 without booster easily. Imo it is one of the biggest breakthroughs that DHS has, although it is still not up there with boosted Hurricane which is the gold standard for FH in general....

Seems like a rubber designed for BH to me, given its hardness only goes up to 38 deg. I think 39/40 are the most common hardness for FH Chinese rubbers.

I am using 38 deg Jupiter 3, which costs ~60% of a H8-80 according to aliexpress. I doubt H8-80 would perform a lot better than J3, if at all better.

Is dhs owned by lining or somebody now?

I always think dhs should acquire daiki or sumitomo and massively improve their product portfolio

Yeah I think LiNing bought DHS.
DHS could do what they have done with GoldArc, which is a ESN rubber. They also collaborate with Nittaku to some extent.

If I buy a Dignics then I have 1 rubber but when I buy a H3 I get about 7 rubbers
I explain: First I can get 4 rubbers for the price of 1 Dignic.
Then I can boost the H3 with 1 layer of snott
then with 2 layers of snott
and then with 3 layers of snott and every time i get a different characteristic out of this rubber.
Sorry if my math stinks but you get my drift, it gives one a chance to individualize ones rubbers

At least based on these reviews, it appears that Jupiter 3 needs to be boosted, and the tackiness goes away in 1 month. That's quite a far cry from Hurricane 8-80 which holds its tack for long amounts of time and holds its performance for 3 months and counting (I'm still using it with no problems whatsoever).

The tack did reduce after 1 month, but it hasn't hurt my game yet. My opponents still dump my backspin serve into the net and struggle with my brush loops. Not sure about boosting, I did not boost it myself; it comes with factory boosting.

These deals really are pretty good after taking a look. Blades like Yinhe Pro 01 and V14 Pro are like 30% off from what I saw a month or two ago, and that's before the extra store savings. Also many of the rubbers I've been interested in are around 10-30% off the regular price before the extra store savings. For example, I remember Loki 3 Blue/Pink being close to $20 and now it's $16.

Looks like I'm going to be buying some stuff after all. Thanks and no thanks to @TensorBackhand for bringing this to my attention :p
