Best Chinese sticky rubbers that don't need boosting

Yes, FP is falco platinum. The massage gun is the cheapest one with cushioning ball attachment. I use a sheet of 729 super to cover the surface of the new rubber. I put the stack between 2 sheets of cooking paper and pressed with the massage gun most of the surface, from the sponge side. Sometimes I measure 1-2 degrees softening of the sponge, but most of the change is in the reducing of sponge damping, or energy loss during rebound.

Have you measured the hysteresis or is this just some impression? I can't really say I've ever used *any* rubber that didn't just become slower and less bouncy after use.

I am using durometer on multiple points, from the sponge side. Bounsing test is subjective. After treatment the rubber is more consistent across the surface. My impressions are mostly on slow, middle to hard rubbers.

You should just measure the bounce height when dropped at low speed. The CR is highest at low speed, around 0.5 to 0.7, and the deltas will be the highest if there is any. I've only ever found lower CR which is consistent with breakdown of the sponge.

Cuifeng more heavy and hard and Chinese blue sponge like. Durability is very good. It's not that bouncy but not slow it's hard and quite fast. Needs good power to be hit through but if you manage to it's so good and rewarding.

what do you think of pinyi cuifeng blue sponge 37-38 degree version?

I always preferred h3 bs 39 because its easier to hit through, there was even a time where I used boosted h3 37 os on fh and liked it

wondering which version (37-38 or 39-40) fits me better since u said pinyi cuifeng is quite hard

Just a quick note on the Tuttle 25 and 27 rubbers mentioned previously on the thread. I was interested in their take on Zyre-style sponge thicknesses so I ordered sheets of 25 in red and 27 in black. However, what arrived was....interesting:

I mean, I've been alive for more than 5 minutes so I know not to expect perfection from Chinese rubbers in general. But as you can see, 25 is really thick, bigger than the Zyre and the entire rubber is very, very close to the 4mm limit overall. But then the 27, which should be thicker than the 25, is nowhere near that and is slightly thinner than the G20, which should be 2.2mm. These are straight out of the packet, no boosting by me.

When you buy rubbers specifically for the uber-thick sponge, it's a shame to get this but not a surprise of course. The red 25 is labelled as 2.5mm 45 degree, the black 27 is labelled 2.7mm 39-40 degree. Not used either yet. I won't waste your time with "buyer beware".

I wouldn't go down to 37-38, unless for BH. FH I think it would feel too bouncy with not enough support for hard hits.

My impression from using it for a few sessions is that it's pretty mediocre for a forehand rubber, but I thought it'd be pretty good for the backhand. Funnily that was also my impression of Jupiter 3 38A and they measure almost exactly the same hardnesses in Shore A and O on both sides of the sheet.

I am not sure if Gambler X3 diamond gold label made the list, but it should be here as well.

So I've been using the H3N Commercial 38 boosted on my FZD ALC and replica W968. The sponge dies too quick with 2 layers of booster. I find there's also an issue with the consistency of the the topsheet on the H3N Commercial. They don't retain the tackiness like they use to. I had a sheet of Gambler X3 Diamond Gold Label on my Xiom Hayabusa ZXi for BH. I believe I had it boosted with Haifu Sea Moon two layers. I was able to get nice cracking counter topspin. I tried it briefly for FH and surprisingly liked it better than the 729 Battle 2 National Blue Sponge 38 boosted that was actually being used for the FH. I ended up taking a fresh X3D GL off another blade and put it on my FZD ALC. Unboosted it did not perform the way I liked it but I could feel that it can give more when the sponge is really engaged. I took it off and boosted with two layers of Haifu Sea Moon and it has been playing really good so far. The tackiness is so much better. Spin generation on serves is about the same as the H3N. Topspin loops and drives seem to drop closer to the net. Topspin counters and drives stay low to the net with secure feeling. I'm going to continue playing with it for a while and see how it goes.

I gave one one of my Chinese friends a sheet of Sanwei Target national 3, the normal version. He normally used H3 BS on FH and H3 OS on BH and since he is lacking some raw impact power I said to him to try the STN since it's easier to hit trough and has more speed. And so he tried it first on FH and he liked it a lot and his shots were much more fast. Before I could be very calm against him but now I need to be on the edge. So now he bought 2 sheets, both FH and BH and will probably use it on his FZD SZLC, but I think it was really good on his Viscaria already. I used STN with Mizutani ZLC and it was pretty good so maybe FZD SZLC will also be good.
