For players like WCQ and ML. DHS sends them many blades every month for them to pick from. I doubt that you cannot pick another blade with the exact same weight and very similar feel. And for the rubbers, the CNT players change rubber every 2 or 3 days during important matches like the Olympics, so there should be at least one pair (if not several) of boosted rubbers ready to be used.

So I don't think the broken bat has much draw back for the match against Truls. It's just Truls plays better.

I'd agree with that but add that, while being sometimes inconsistent, he has reached incredible levels also over the past 2 years. It's a shame he has this 'shadow of the bat' hanging behind his Olympic singles record but I expect him to comelfortably and easily win every other match he plays now that the big pressure is off.
there is no doubt WCQ has what it takes (hence the other thread I started)
He needs to prove to the world (i mean, himself) that he can take on the pressure and not fold against it like what we have seen

I've seen this too many times that people just put their racket on the bag, on bench etc and someone trips and racket is broken. So Wang Chuqin's kind of at fault too though after winning an Olympic gold maybe even the most disciplined mind would not care about his racket braking. But as you can see the devil is always awake and gets us when we least expect it.

Lesson of this story is that everyone should put their racket in a hard case especially if there's a huge crowd around.

And it was interesting how furious he got and how white he became too. Pale as a ghost. Obviously this racket was important to him. If he had 2-3 identical spare ones then I don't think he would have reacted so extremely.

I don't think Chinese players rotate their rackets so much or care to use so many. WCQ before used a very old Viscaria, old silver tag, no holo lens. I can say the same for Zhang Jike, at the end of his carrier he used and old silver tag Viscaria while Butterfly had a full ZJ blade lineup. He didn't even care to put a ZJK ALC handle on his Viscaria.
So why did they both use some very old beat up silver tag Viscaria if they don't have a favorite one or a best one?

I'm not saying that Truls would have lost if WCQ had his racket but for sure it didn't help WCQ.

Also people assuming his racket was a Q968... Maybe? What if DHS changed his W968 handle only? It's totally possible they did that and to Sun Yingsha too. Heck maybe FZD still uses his old Golden Viscaria with FZD ALC handle.

Chinese all are very smart guys.

China pro players all got well prepared for mishaps of anykind. Sure, they know very well how to proceed with the banned (broken) rackets. So, the broken one did not make any troubles for WCQ, not a least whit.

Does it make a difference? It was on his bag and that camera stepped on his bag.
didn't stepped on the bag
more like, hands went into the bag to bring it out, to damage it
big difference

I think you don't get an accident by stepping onto a huge luggage in that space. You will make sure you dodge it.
No one else tripped over it...and even if you step on the luggage, to be right by the neck of the blade... whats the odds.

check for yourself

I can't see any bag there. From the video it looks like he put in on the chair, then crowd arrived, blade fell down on the ground and some man stepped onto it then.

'In the bag' is the same like 'on the top' of the luggage??? Really??? BTW: Chinese players always used their unfair methods in order to win. Petr Korbel could tell his stories. WCQ made a mistake and he received his lesson. Next time he will definitely take more care about his precious equipment. No sorry for him. Full stop.

And that picture doesn't say anything as the blade is already broken.

since it is 200% deliberate
even if WCQ has closed the bag/luggage, the hand would still go in and bring it out and break it.
it wasn't an accident.

you can go stand on paddles and see how difficult it is to break it.
without the correct angle and the force at the right location....the blade is strong enough to give through all kinds of brutality

now trying to put it on a luggage, where there is cushioning below, good like trying to break it.

PS. I didn't see any one tripping over after "standing" inside that luggage.

you see, the rest of what you say have nothing to do with what truth I can see from camera angles I have shared.
I don't like WCQ, but what has happened isn't right!

You obviously didn't watch that video I linked above. The only fact here is that it started when he threw his blade away on the top of something (chair or luggage, don't know). Nobody took out his blade out of the closed bag/luggage, that's simply nonsense.

stop talking rubbish. He laid , not throw his blade on the chair.

But then of course reporters are like hyenas, they will do just about anything to get "the shot" .........remember Diana ?

i guess you didn't watch this video. 3rd time I'm posting it here in 3 days

a pity you don't seem to know Chinese, lots of content out there to show the reporter not taking any photos and had his left hand missing (this is front view from IOC's camera) and him nearly down behind the surrounds with left hand reaching low down.

I shared quite a bit on TTD over the 3 threads that talks about this incident. Seems like you still the one that believe otherwise..... no different to flat earth theory people even after there is evidence of foul play.

There is even a photo of the blade by the cameraman's hand, and shoe on top of the black rubber (which is in the video link I shared, and of which the 2nd time I'm sharing this photo in this thread). In case you are too lazy, here is one of the photos I shared matching the video from a fan which matches the missing hand holding the paddle.
Now if he is taking photos.... why is the hand by his foot? why is the paddle no longer in the luggage? You can see the red content of the luggage by the reporter on the right.
Any ways, if your eyes tell you no foul play, i'm glad you are not involved with the investigation.
