I have done it yes, but not myself but a carpenter i know. It was very easy, I saw the process: He removed the old handle with a chisel and used D3 wood glue to glue the new one. It was really easy, i could have done it myself

Take a look at this video. However, I wouldn't put my blade in boiling water under any circumstance.

Yes but it's available only to customers at Japanese retailers and I believe its a lottery. The reason Butterfly ended the service initially was because stores and individuals in Japan were buying custom blades and then selling them on the open market which Butterfly felt devalued the product.

OK, if I'm crazy enough to want to order an old diode in Japan, are there people on this forum who can help with that? Or maybe your friends in Japan. I would really appreciate it.

I asked a few places in Japan about this, but everyone played dumb. They were Butterfly AD's, so it was either a communication thing or more likely I was getting X'ed out for being Gaijin.

I was in the stores, one in okinawa, one in tokyo. I asked and didnt get anywhere. I cant speak japanese, so it was hard to press them more. i was using apps and stuff to communicate.

As far as I understand, this only works in "for members" butterfly stores. If you were in them and you were refused, this is sad news. I was just planning to ask someone who is going to Japan for an internship.

This was a while back, really not long after this thread was first posted. One store was pretty small, owned by an older lady, but it was listed on the B'fly site as an authorized dealer. They mostly had stuff for students and was a pretty small shop. The other one had a lot of B'fly stuff, but maybe wasnt an authorized dealer., idk I wouldnt despair, though, the offer might be more well known by now.
