After narrowing down the product specifications through simulations and mechanical testing, we turned to Butterfly’s proud lineup of world-class players for playtesting, to verify performance in real-game conditions. Some players highly rated the rubber from the early stages, while others found the new feel unfamiliar and even perceived a drop in performance. Taking all this feedback into account, the team refined the design and ultimately opted for a sponge with a hardness of 44. This meticulous design, guided by the insights of top players, is what brought out the rubber’s high performance.

It's fine, nothing special here, do the job

It is very good for certain kinds of aggressive pushes but you don't get dwell. Definitely not a short push machine on the level of tacky or Dignics rubbers... while I can see a player getting good at short pushing with it, I would be surprised if they considered that a major strength of the rubber vs others...

It hits the ball flat pretty awesomely in some ways, so that might make it great at flat flicking for some people... I suspect though that the lack of dwell will turn off many...

Maybe it's me, I found dwell on FH to be fine. Short game was good, serves as well. Looping felt better with Zyre03 compared to any other BTY rubbers I've used.

I like a lot the two speed gears allowed for this rubber. I understand people can manage this gear & hate the rubber. People that likes the sensation how ball penetrate the sponge also didn't like because have small dwell time so other reason to hate the rubber so Tenergy users or similar bouncy is a no no.

For me is now the best rubber & the most similar to speed glue era.

N.B. If you can't control you could use a slower blade

It's possible will be better 2.5 for backhand because will be more direct to block, smash & counter topspin. Me don't have this problem because I use long pips for BH.

2nd time out with the Zyre 03 on FH, even better than the 1st session!!
Played a couple of games at the end of coaching, so I used match serves etc Serves were spin loaded and way more controlled than with T05,T19,D09C, as was short game pushes. By controlled, the catapult isn’t there in the same level, I could control the depth of serves without having to worry about the ball springing off. When I tested T05 etc and other ‘bouncy’ rubbers like R53, I had to take care when serving and pushing, there seemed to be less margin for error contact wise. I don’t seem to have this issue with Z03.
I’m using an all wood blade, so this maybe the reason that I think it has less catapult than other players. I have a couple of SDC blades with carbon layers but they are DEF rated and would be even slower than the Primorac SDC clone that the Z03 is currently on. I can imagine that if the Z03 was on a ALC carbon blade then the catapult would be larger.

Looping away from the table mid and long distance is just sweet!!

Now still nobody knows Zyre 03 durability but knowing durability of TGY & Dignics surely durability will be very durable, I don't know durability of Xiom Omega 8 Hybrid but if it's like ESN rubbers worth to buy Zyre 03 or TGY or Dignics.
